Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Fatih Mosque dominates the main square in old town Durres, as it's elevated against the central plateau. The Mosque dates back to the 1500's named after the Ottoman ruler who built it.
Like all other religious sites in Albania it was banned during the communist era and even its minaret ruined.
Best views of it are from the Sema cafe/restaurant just opposite it. Come for a drink or dinner and enjoy the views.

Small, beautiful mosque in the old town. We were there yesterday and would definitely recommend a visit. However, in this review I would also like to mention the extremely pleasant experience of meeting an elderly gentleman - member of the Muslim community - who is apparently taking care of the mosque. He speaks fine Italian, which my husband and I, as Romanians, can understand. He was most eager not only to introduce us the mosque, but also give us more information about the city and then guide us to the Orthodox and then Roman Catholic churches in the centre, which could have been rather hard to find.

A pretty 'compact' place which gives you a pleasing feeling. I liked the the fact that it was clean and well-arranged. Maybe wouldn't pay a special visit to there, but if in Durres, I would go again.

One of the biggest buildings in town, an important site for the faithful. They will welcome you inside to see the architecture.

- In Old Town, beside Main Square & City Hall & Archeological Site, you can go by walking from Durres Bus Station about 1.50 km W.S.
- It's crowded during "Friday Pray" maybe because there are relatively a little of Mosques.

Its not written much about different Things to see in Durres but one of them are the mosque in center of town. There was a Nice square after some walking from bus station and there this was. Looks Nice. Close to amphi theater. On the square cool fountain. The house of town was there. And Nice made area for the relaxing part. Then You could sit there an look up on the mosque I was also walking to the Beach area and there was some very Nice Things to see but no one have written about it.2 roman figures on statues ready for a fight. In the end of the Beach a very cool statue of a man sitting and Fishing. Restaurants a lot of them. A kind of tivoli Carousel for kids. And more Things. All of this have nothing to do under the mosque post I post it anyway. In this part of Durres I tought it was beautiful.

It is in well condition. Beautiful construction. It was closed at the time of my visit, so I can't saw how it is inside.
