It costs 400 leke, so not expensive. There is nothing to note other than the scale, which was capable of holding at least 15000 people. Don't rush to go.

The amphitheater is a wonderful structure in the middle of the City which is not well preserved and wished the local government did something to preserve it better. Worth visiting in town. There are local guides that will give an explanation on site.

The amphitheatre is beautiful, the romans ruins are very often wonders. But, I feel this very weird to pay the entrance while you can see the whole thing from all around for free...?

Durres has many archeologic attractions and the amphitheater is one of this. It is well preserved and tourists would love it. It is located near the center of the town.

The amphitheatre itself is not particularly spectacular compared to others we have visited. However, go down to the galleries below which are much more interesting. In particular check out the remains of the Byzantine chapel which has 6th century frescoes of angels and archangels. These are the only wall mosaics found in Albania.

The town of Durres really encroaches on this roman ruin, to the point that I'm surprised there's anything left. Thankfully, there is, and while it's nothing like many of the roman amphitheatres I've had the pleasure to visit, it is still worth a visit. You're free to walk around, after paying the small fee, and it is definitely something you... More

We walked from Cruise Ship up the hill, and found this wee gem. It's not easy to find, we got there purely by chance, so best to research directions. For 3 Euros, it's fantastic value., though debris and rubbish lying around are unnecessary, no excuses here I'm afraid ! We waited until our fellow cruisers left (on an expensive escorted... More

not worth the visit or the entrance fee. You can see all there is to see from the outside. We went in for a look in any case. Trouble is ther eis nothing else to see once you are inside.
