    Great day out
Snorkeling trip to the islands with Global Scuba today. What an amazing experience watching turtles, wrasse, trigger fish, parrot fish, several types of angel fish among many others. Water was clear and of course very warm. Easy swimming for someone who would not rate themselves as the strongest swimmer. Would actually rate this as a better experience than the Maldives for swimming with turtles. Great guys on the boat, well equipped and really helpful. Such a brilliant trip, although it is the wrong time of year to land on the islands, a trip should not be missed as part of any visit to Oman.

    Beauty
Omg this has to be the most beautiful island with breathtaking views . We booked with Marmar tourism and the boat ride there was about 45 mins . At the first spot the boat waits while you jump on to do snorkelling with the turtles and you can see all the beautiful fish swim by . They give you the snorkelling equipment . Then you head to the beach where you can either sit and relax or do more snorkelling on the other side . There is also a cliff where you can climb and see some awesome views . Highly recommend

Amazing - well organised trip to a very special place
We were in very safe hands with a knowledgeable and friendly crew. We saw a group of around 10 turtles feeding and swimming up for air, totally unfazed by our presence. The captain shared his go pro footage with us which we will treasure. The second part took us to a beach / rock area with more snorkelling /walking and views of the most turquoise water I have ever seen. A wonderful day in a wonderful country - highly recommend. Thank you!

    Snorkeling experience
The nature was amazing. The Island was not allowed to visit at this time of summer because they wanted to protect the turtles but we swam and watched fish and turtles under water. Snorkeling was a new experience for me. If you want to see the beauty of Oman sea I recommend this Island.

The Damaniyat Archipelago is a group of nine uninhabited main islands, which stretch for 18 Kms and are about as distant from the nearest coast, the Batinah Coast, about 100 km north of Muscat. They are formed by limestone rocks and ancient coral reefs, and still active coral reefs border them in several parts.
It's therefore obvious that this archipelago was declared a nature reserve about thirty years ago: the features of the land and the sea justify it. So there are no tourist resorts; only camping is allowed (for a fee), as I understand it for a maximum of five days.
The islands have an almost desert character, even more so than the mainland, which at least is criss-crossed by wadis which can have running water after the rains. The sea water is warm in every season, due to the latitude more than that of the renowned resorts in the north of the Red Sea: in January we dived as we would in the Mediterranean in July and August.
We visited spots on two of the islands of the archipelago during a day trip from Muscat. We didn't land in the first spot, but we snorkeled starting directly from the boat, also swimming among the turtles that abound in these waters. We noticed that, at least on the day of our visit, strong currents forcefully move swimmers away from their original position, requiring great effort to stay in the same spot. In the second spot, an evocative and deserted cove, we briefly immersed ourselves in the water again, then we consumed the packed lunch provided by the organization.
We returned early to Muscat, because the weather forecast was unfavourable, and in fact we found rough sea on the way back.
It was an exciting, albeit short, experience.

The islands are beautiful and worth to visit when in Muscat. Seeb port is around 30-minute drive away from Muscat and islands are around 30-45 minute- speedboat ride from port but definitely worth it!!!
