The state park is a great place to visit in Chicot County! It's free and has a lot to offer for all ages. The views across the lake at sunset are stunning. The hiking trails are mediocre, but there is also a playground and a great swimming pool. The lake is extremely accessible for motored boats, kayaks, wading, fishing, etc.... More

Nice park. We looked at the cabins for a future visit. They are very nice. You can get a one bedroom right on the water front with a private boat dock and a fantastic view. The park staff is very nice and helpful. Enjoyed our visit very much.

Spacious camping sites, but park needs attention. lots of standing water, debris laying around. Bath houses were doable but nothing impressive

Unfortunately, from the middle of March through the beginning of May is often a very stormy and rainy time of year in our part of Arkansas. The park has experienced several severe storms already this season, causing us to have several sizeable trees and limbs fall in the park. We are working diligently to clean up the debris as quickly... More

On a sunny day I visited this park, rented a Kayak and went to the other side of the lake to explore the beautiful cypress swamp teeming with wildlife. A magical world, 'creeping' through the trees. It took me about 3 hours to cover the area and had a wonderful time. The quiet atmosphere is unfortunately sometimes interupted by boats... More

This little jewel sits in the southeast corner of Arkansas and on the largest natural oxbow lake in North America.

Lake Chicot is an oxbow lake which eventually separated from the Mississippi River. I went on a family trip to Lake Chicot State Park. We went boating through the beautiful cypress. You can easily rent a kayak or a boat. We stayed in a large and comfortable cabin, where we had everything we needed to cook. We walked on the... More

We have stayed here since I was little. We have always enjoyed the place. The campgrounds are nice, they have electricity and water, there are also sites along the lake that are beautiful and those have sewage hook up, but those sites are more for RVs and not tents. The cabins are nice and reasonably priced, the 1 bedroom cabins... More

The website looked like all the cabins were booked up when I tried several times to schedule, so I assumed they were busy and all booked up. I should have tried calling as that might have yielded different results. I drove by to see the park and there were very few people staying there. I see recent reviews so apparently... More

Forgot how hot it can be in July (a plus since large watermelons were in season and easy find. Cabin was nice with a few rough spots (screen in the screen door cut, a few burners on the stove that didn't work, a few dead light bulbs) but fine otherwise. We had a cabin with two bedrooms which worked for... More

We went off the beaten path to find this state park to get out and stretch our legs a bit from a long road trip. The Visitor Center was closed already, but there was still enough daylight for us to check out the park and for my boys to run around. There's a nice swimming pool that was also closed... More
