Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There were two families in our group. Kids ranged from 12 to 3. We researched a lot of the beaches in Sousa and Cabarete. Decided against Sousa Beach as it was Sunday and we were told it would be packed and a lot of solicitation. The only people who solicited us were to ask if we wanted chairs and an umbrella. Get some! They said them up for you, there is no shade. Very reasonably priced. Those same people can help you order food and drinks to your chairs. They can bring you menus and help you. Build in some time, this can take a while but it’s vacation time! The water at that time of year was quite wavy and not as calm as mentioned in some other reviews. But that was no problem for our group because it was like a sport for the kids. They could’ve stayed in it all day and loved it! Beautiful beach, no garbage or build up from the waves. Highly recommend!

Wow!! Super clean, uncrowded, clear beach in Northern Dominican Republic. We found this beach after spending a week down South fighting off vendors and big waves. You take stairs down to the beach which is like a cove. One side has a cliff that is impassable with no beach around. It’s quiet, super clean, has chairs and umbrellas to rent, and the restaurants around it are high end. There isn’t any local flavor here but you will relax in beautiful water with beautiful scenery. The restaurant above sits on a cliff overlooking the beach. Go there for dinner at sunset!

Staying at Casa Marina all inclusive for the week means you get access to this amazing beach as if it belonged to the hotel…. It is such a lovely spot. When you wear the all inclusive bracelet, guests of the hotel can access the wooden ramp/ staircase to Playa Alicia. There is a guard posted daily at the hotel to allow only guests to go back and forth from the public beach to the private hotel. Your bracelet also means you get a blue chaise lounger at no cost.

The beautiful Playa Alicia!
Swimming or just relaxing and reading a book, this is the best beach. Bring a cooler and snacks, a few peso’s will get you a chair and umbrella, and sit back and relax.
If you prefer the best beach location for a beautiful sunset, this is the beach!
Multi-lingual friendly beach within walking distance to everything.

What a nice beach. We paid $20 for 5 chairs & 2 umbrellas. But if you lunch at the restaurant, they are free. Water clear & good temp. The water is deep but totally enjoyable. Our favorite beach so far.

Playa Alicia is just stunning! The beach is clean, offers good amenities including chair/umbrella rental and a restaurant for food if you like. Playa Alicia was practically empty the whole week we were in DR. By far our favorite beach.

We loved Playa Alicia with its clear, calm waters. The service provided by the Waterfront Restaurant was wonderful as well.
If you go, make sure you wear shoes to cross the sand because it is scalding hot, especially during midday.
