We did two tours with Ecotour Barahona during our stay in the area. The first to Laguna Oviedo/Bahia de las Aguilas and the second to Lago Enriquillo. Our guide was very kind and patient and the car was comfortable (which is important because you have to drive for a bit to get to each location). It was very nice to... More

We really enjoyed our time with Mael and Jiobani, our two guides with EcoTour Barahona. They were knowledgable, friendly, courteous, and really professional, seeming to take genuine pleasure in sharing their knowledge of their region with us. And, we loved seeing how inclusive and supportive of the local community EcoTour Barahona is. They encouraged us to visit and support a... More

We booked a day tour to Cachote and we really enjoyed our day. The road up to the mountain was really rocky, so be prepared to spend some hours in a pumping car, but ohter than that it was a great oportunity to see how the people in te villages live and to see what is really up on all... More

My partner and I recently spent 3 days in Barahona and contacted Ecotours beforehand to specifically ask about two trips - the first to Baie Angeles for snorkeling and the second to Cahote for birdwatching. I had several discussions on Skype with Nico and specifically asked for three things: 1) about snorkeling at Baie Angeles - Nico assured me that... More

We booked three tours in three consecutive days. They were very well organised and interesting. The lunches provided were delicious. The agency and the field guide were very responsive and efficient. Would strongly recommend if you want to see more of the Dominican Repulic outside the confines of the closed luxury resorts.

Our guide was a young Frenchman, and he was very knowledgeable about the area. The southern part of the park includes Lake Oviedo, a unique salt water lake. Aside from beautiful views of the nearby mountains, the local fauna include pink flamingos and iguanas. Nearby is Lake Enriquillo, another saltwater lake and the lowest point in the Caribbean (148 feet... More

I made two excursions: Lago Enriquillo and Bahía de las Águilas. I loved both of them and would definately recommend Ecotour Barahona. The southwestern region of the Dominican Republic is really worth a visit.

We were a group of seven family and friends wanting to travel in the southwest, but not wanting to hire a car. Ecotours Barahona organised everything perfectly for us: transport from Santo Domingo to Paraiso (combination of private transport in the minibus and public bus), three day tours and transfer between hotel in Paraiso (Pirates del Caribe - lovely) and... We were three travelers attending the day trip to Lago Enriquillo with Ecotour Barahona. They came to pick up us from our hotel in the morning and we drove to Lago Enriquillo having a few stops in the villages on the way. We went to look for crocodiles with a boat on the lake. There were unfortunately not that many... More

We went to the Bahia de las Aguilas and the next day to Lago Enriquillo. The itineray and the sites are great. The tour was well organized, on time and professional. The guide we had to the beach couldn't speak English, and didn't know much about the area. The guide to Lago Enriquillo was suberb, We have been living in... More
