It is really stupid to list this mere pathway as an attraction. The "hombres illustres" don't even have a connection to Tuxtla Gutierrez. The attractions are the two excellent museums the path connects.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, "Calzada de los Hombres Illustres", is just a path that takes you to the museums and to the Botanical Garden. The pathway has sculptures of famous Mexicans (Emiliano Zapata, Pancho Villa, etc.). The Regional Museum of Chiapas is a fantastic exhibit and the 2nd museum you come to when walking. The day we were there most of the rooms were closed, but the archaeological section was open. Chiapas is home to quite a few Mayan ruins, Palenque being the most famous. This part of the museum was not large but the collection was definitely worth the visit and it was well displayed.
