Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can pose for pictures with Nang Nguek Thong or Golden Mermaid Statue while enjoy a relaxing walk along the seafront. There are also plenty of vendors congregate along the beachfront, selling everything from cheap eats to Songkhla souvenirs.

Booked a tuk-tuk at 1000 Baht to & fro Lee Gardens Plaza, for 4 pax.
A perfect sunny day for a stroll along the beach. Take some time to enjoy the sun, the breeze and maybe a horse ride. Not forgetting to take photos with the golden mermaid statue.
Stalls are along the road from the carpark to the beach; a place to grab some souvenirs - much cheaper than buying in Hat Yai.

This wonderful while sandy beach is only about 2 1/2 kms from the market-- and can be easily accessed by local busses!! The beach is also bordered [in the afternoon] by shady pine trees. Many visitors pay a visit just to see the mermaid statue-- but its also a wonderful place to swim, have a picnic or just "Hang Out"!!

Pine trees, beige sand, sea breeze... this place is so beautiful that I took one star away. Why ? Because it is at its prime when it just got cleaned up by Trash Hero volunteers. Although it would benefit from sctricter no-plastic rules, why wait for rules when we all know it's wrong to litter ? (maybe a sign in Chinese would help, but I saw way too many foreigners in any country of the world throwing trash like they never would back home - e.g. the Swiss pay high fees when they litter in Switzerland, but beware of them throwing garbage out the windows when you drive behind them on a German, Italian or French highway !)
A great place in a beautiful region.

The water is clear and clean. Not much crowd but relaxing environment. Horse riding and small gift stalls and shops available near the beach road.

This beach is the most popular & the most visited beach in Songkhla province. Just 1 to 2 hours drive by songtheow from in fornt of Hat Yai Plaza. The white sandy beach stretches nearly 5 km long to Son On beach.

The sun, the sand, evening breeze and Vitamin Sea.
One of the famous beach in Songkhla that's frequented by the locals as well as tourists. Scenic view. Easily accessible.

An impressive beach with many interesting features, however it is so disappointing that, having invested in sculpture and facilities to create interest, nobody takes responsibility for the simple task of keeping the beach clean, and the tide-line is a mass of rubbish.

International visitors flock to this beach in droves and there is quite a thriving little beachside economy going on. You’ll find dozens of food and drink shacks, the obligatory trinket sellers and ponies for hire if you feel like a bit of horse riding. It’s a real carnival atmosphere, with selfies all round and everyone having a marvelous time. It makes me wonder what the beaches are like where these visitors are from, because Samila Beach Is bang average, and even that is being kind.
The trash has been cleared away, but the water is still murky and the lagoon isn’t somewhere I’d want to submerge my feet.
The sign says it’s too dangerous to swim. Is that because of the dodgy water or the choppy conditions? Who could say?

Beyond visiting the photo-friendly mermaid, Samila has a lot to offer: sand, rocks, casuarina trees extend for many potential hours of walk. It is rare to find such beautiful waters within a large town.
