Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here on the drive from Mae Sot to Tak. This used to be a very difficult road but its now a magnificent 4 lane highway ! Great engineering effort through the Mountains!
The market is very extensive extremely clean ! The fruit and Vegetables on sale are magnificent the Local strawberries a highlight! As well they have clothing and and array of other goods. Its obviously a market to servive locals not tourists but we found it a highlight of our Journey in this part of Thailand. Stop and enjoy the colour sounds and aroma of local activities!

Its a small time market managed by local tribes. you will get similar food items elsewhere but freshness sets the items sold here apart from super markets. I tried strawberries with top notch quality and grapes straight out of grape yards. the road from Tak to Mae Sot is very scenic but driving should be very focused as its extremely twisty in places.

This market sits beside the Tak/Mae Sot Road, about 30 kms from the Tak end on the top of a mountain. It is run by the local Muser people. Best for fruit, vegetables and plants really, but even so a great place for passing tourists to stop for a coffee and a look see. Quite a few local snack type of foods to buy as well.

Well worth a break in the trip for a look see.

This place no longer exists at the area shown on the map. I think it is no incorporated in the many other markets in downtown Mae Sot.

This seems to be a hoax. The “Hilltribe Market“ either does not exist, or it’s in a totally different location. We tried to find it on our own, asking people in the area where it is supposed to be, and also in the hotel, but to no avail. Nobody has ever heard of it. Therefore, we think it’s a hoax.

If you wish you view all the local merchandise from both Myanmar and Thailand, or even those imported from China, stop by this market. There are hill tribe crafts as well as cheap eletronics, cosmetics, leather products, simple repair tools and more.

Driving to or from Mae Sot through the mountain just stop and visit the Hilltribe Market. Look at the beautiful fruits and vegetables and enjoin all the people who work there of who visit the market.
I loved it.

Great market on highway 12 between Mae Sot and Tak. To help have amended my previous review (January 2017) to add co-ordinates to title as per some requests because of confusion just where this market is . My review is for the Mu Soe Hill tribe market and not a n other on highway 105 .
Well worth stopping here - we spent around an hour ended up buying lots of fresh produce, including; ginger 1kg for 20 baht. a free range chicken, a pile of fresh jungle pork, cabbages, sausages cooked very tasty, crispy pork scratchings - other veg.
Could have bought so much more, lots of cheap strawberries on sale but we still had quite a journey ahead but will definitely visit again when we travel to Mae Sot.
Just a note about the road - it is currently being improved - it is quite steep and precarious in places and signs in Thai warn of dangers - 'category 1' - highest rating for accidents! - so be prepared as there are a lot of crazy drivers ignoring all speed and no overtaking signs!

Why did no one ever found out that the given location is wrong.
We went all the way up north. a market is always nice but if you get the wrong place it's a waste of time to run around.
