Another modern train station ,the same as others from KL ,but a little tedious if you take the stairs ,no clear signs getting out but it's a void policy to follow the crowd

Poor signages, not clearly located where it should be. The designers of this hub did not take into account of the aged or advanced age people. Watch your steps. Many bottlenecks in the areas. Watchout for the buses that don't care about the pedestrians. Watch your steps as you can easily tripped and on the escalators hold on tight do... More

Be careful should you drive...one could get lost..at Butterworth terminal area...esp when one failed to look for the railway station...a long detour. Should you arrive by ferry...when you reach...walk to the right ramp...DO NOT WALK LEFT...by going down from the escalator...or steps..you will find yourself heading towards the buses. NOTE:- Please be careful ... Constructions near the ferry terminal is... More

Malaysia is very obviously focusing a great deal on establishing a both very efficient and high speed electrical rail system (which it has already made considerable gains towards). Butterworth Railway Station is a result of this, starting from humble beginnings, having been transformed and rebuilt to offer rail passengers an efficient means to be transported (by rail) to (or within... We did reach our destination in Chumphon safely so all went well however thought the following may assist other travellers contemplating the journey. As at July 2016 you can no longer buy your Thailand train #36 ticket in either Penang or Butterworth. You... More

Ticketing staffs not helpful. Would be nice to relocate the ticketing counter to the main entrance. Need more sitting benches. Not enough train attendants to guide passengers and confirm that they are on the right train to their destination. Clean and new. Entrance gate too narrow for 2 opposite cars to drive in.
