We are world travelers and Indonesia is one of our favorite places to visit. No visit would be complete without going to Toraja Land; it is absolutely fascinating with burial sites which have a strange beauty, baby graves, and we were able to attend a funeral this trip.

Me and a friend really wanted to do some serious hiking when in Indonesia, and did we get it! We spent 3 full days walking around through what seemed like an infinite amount of ricefields. But the view never gets old! At night we stayed in local villages. People there were very friendly and made dinner for us, but they... More

We did a nice tour through the villages with a tour guide Imanuael Timbang. Very nice man and very knowledgeable. With the buffalo's I can assure you it's not for faint hearted. All together we had a really nice stay.

The landscape of stone cliff with trees was beautiful. Even we can only see THE scenery from distance in a small traditional cafe.

Toraja land is very unique place and I am very happy that we have decided to stay 4 days. We explored the lovely scenery, lush rice fields, were in awe when we saw the unique boat shaped houses- Tangkonans and rice barn. The local people have very strong family bonds and traditions that have not changed much over the years.... More

We went to Tana Toraja in december 2016 and stayed in Misiliana hotel. The hotel is quite clean but noisy ( bad sound isolation) and more suitable for groups then individual travellers. There is a huge breakfast buffet and there are two pools. It is quite far to walk from the hotel to a restaurant outside of the hotel, because... More

been here twice in a 20 year period and little has changed. Feels like the time stood still here. Enjoyed my second visit as much as the first encounter with Toraga. Nice and friendly people. Recommend.

Spent a week here and did most of the tourist stuff, which was real interesting. Spent several days on a scooter, driving around taking pictures and loved it. The local market is a highlight by itself, just walking around and trying to understand the culture is great, and gives great pictures
