The Museum has a wide collection of artifacts, dioramas, and traditional buildings. You are basically walked through halls that recreate minority life in Guangxi. There are several of these types of attractions in southern China and this is probably the most informative. The exhibits are well explained and teach you some of the unique characteristics of each group. The park... More

Located in the city. It is easily accessible. A simple museum that gives a quick introduction the the culture and history of Nanning. If there is the availability of an English language floor plan, it would have been very helpful to those who dont read Chinese. Anyway it worth the two hours spent there. Next to the museum is a... Your map location for this museum would appear to be wrong. This museum is located near the river, about 10 km ESE of downtown Nanning. It is on the east side of the quixing mountain park. It is rather inaccessible by public buses. It has a lot of the usual sort of displays of fancy costumes and houses of the... More

If you are interested in Chinese history and ethnicities this is a must go. The building itself and the set up is impressive. Old drums and sketches of village life. Many customs.

The Guangxi museum of Nationalities offers a representative show case of the various tribes of Guangxi province, their historical background, life style, traditions and ceremonies all in one roof. It is also a quick way to learn so many things within 2 hours of serious study into the artifacts and descriptions prepared by the museum.

This museum full of knowledge. And full of historical artifacts of the Zhuang people. And the other minority.

This is probably one of the first places you should go when travelling to Nanning. After your visit, you will be able to see traditional and ancient symbology all around the city, in the parks, in just so many things that otherwise just seem to be some random or funny desing choices. You can learn loads about the different ethnicities... More

A good way getting to know Guangxi minority ethnic group culture. You have a lot to explore: bronze drum, colorful silk balls, Zhuang brocade, traditional folk-art...Very excellent and interesting. By the way, the museum is closed on Mondays, free admission all the year.
