It's a good park to visit in Gui yang city for a day trip. The park fee is about 1 USD per person, and you could spend the whole day there including hiking, visiting the zoo (at no charge), visit the historical cave, the lake and the temple. The view is very beautiful with lot of monkey surronded. I would say it's one of the best city park in China.

The park is massive with plenty of walking paths, a hilltop temple, and reservoir. The most entertaining and interesting thing to me, however, was the wide range of activities people were doing. Exercises of all sorts, ballroom dancing, opera singing with full brass accompaniment, badminton, tai chi, kung fu, whipping practice, showing off pet birds, swimming laps in the freezing lake, and the list goes on. Not much to see in Guiyang but this park is definitely worth a visit and the ¥5 entrance, and I generally refuse to pay entrance to visit a park. Check it out for an entertaining glimpse into daily Chinese life.

Very nice park with lots of short walks at the ground level but make sure you head up the mountain. There are a number of different routes up and will only take you around 1 hr to reach the summit. On the way you will possibly see monkeys along the path, depending on the time of the day you go. We stood on the top and watched the sunset over the city, amazing! However we forgot to take a torch which made the descent a little difficult.

Very clean Park, awesome nature and views. Mountains can be climbed by steps, that will get you away from the crowds. The elder like to dance. Poetry is written on the pavement in water. Beautiful lakes. The monkeys are quite cheeky. Best just give them whatever you are eating or drinking as they can be aggressive. If it stopped here, I'd give it 5 stars, but the zoo is a disgrace. It is close to, if not animal cruelty. We were shocked by the conditions...

We spent an afternoon in the park (though I wish we'd spent a lot longer) and climbed some of the peaks. It's a great escape from the city and a good way to find some quiet even within the boundary of the park. There are great views over the city from the peaks. If I return to Guiyang, I'll be back in this park to see the things we missed this time round.

Big queue to get in, but if you go early, take the cable car first up to the top, as there will be a long line up for this by mid afternoon. Great views, lovely temples, if you can find your way in the big temple at the top, go and have lunch with the monks. Great food, eat as much as you like for about 10 Yuan. Good walk down but with lots of steps, don't feed the monkeys or carry food with you, they are very good at extracting food from bags as people walk past.

We visited the park the first new year day which is on the 9th of February this year. So, there was a huge crowd of people there which first scared me, but then made it even more interesting. Surprisingly, this time nobody stared at a foreigner - they were too busy with their tradition - you need to find your stick (or it is rather that your stick or a piece of wood finds you) which will bring you luck, money and all the best in the new year. We also bought special sticks to be burnt on the top at the temple - to make a wish! The view is fantastic. There are boats you can rent, WCs, food stores and cafes. You can also try local street food even at the top.
Will certainly come back in a quieter time.

First of all, avoid Guiyang until the subway system is built. The traffic is simply awful all over this town. If, however, you have arrived here then Qianling Park is where you should go. Lots of monkeys to see and take pictures of. Pleasant walks around the park and mountain too. The "zoo" there is grim, avoid at all costs unless you like seeing criminally poor conditions for lions and tigers.

Qianling is a great mid-sized public park quietly nestled in a northern corner of Guiyang.

It features a cable car to the summit, Hongfu Temple which is a great example of Ming architecture, a zoo (almost always a thoroughly depressing sight in China), gardens, a small lake, areas for badminton, dancing etc, and many small street food stalls dotted throughout the park.

Dirt cheap entry and a good way to do some zoological (scores of seriously tame monkeys running amok) and social anthropology in Guiyang.

Scenery & monkeys were interesting to see.
Don't travel during the Chinese national holiday, it will be packed with people and doesn't really give you the opportunity to appreciate it all.
