Wow !

Fantastic experience worthy of any bucket list. We walked a total of six hours through pretty tough terrain to get to the gorillas but it was worth every step.

The journey is challenging - you may be bush whacking with trackers carrying machete's to get through the dense jungle....but all well worth it. The gorilla's are breath taking, I could spend hours watching the little ones roll around and play.

This is amazing, everything we expected and more. It's a long journey to get to Rwanda, a 2.5-3 hour drive from Kigali in a bumpy 4x4 vehicle, up at 5.30 the next morning to get to the national park where the trek organizers do their thing, to finally get underway at 9am. And then do all that again in reverse.... More

We did 2 treks and they were pretty strenuous because the gorillas are on the move. But even after 3 hours of arduous climb, when we saw them it was nothing short of AMAZING. Almost unreal and other-worldly. A once in a lifetime experience but BE PREPARED with hiking boots, gaiters and gloves or you will not make it!

Most people go there for the gorillas, and so should you. Amazing experience! Minimum gears you need: good hiking boots, gators, thin (leather, goretex or similar) gloves, thin raincoat, light snacks and water 1-2 liters. Porters are available and recommended.

Our guide Kwizera Diogene with 4 trackers found the Ntambara gorilla family, spending an hour with them before as clockwork, the gorillas knew, they left us. Yes, the permits are pricey and need to be purchased MONTHS in advance, but it's worth it! Yes, the trekking through the tangled jungle vegetation was tough however, experiencing the gorillas up close and... More

Once in a lifetime experience for anyone. Get your permit early since they are limited and sell out.

Did a Gorilla Trek in July 2016 and it truly was a once in a lifetime experience. Trekked for 4 hours through the most exquisite rain forest only to come within centimetres with the most gorgeous creatures I've ever laid my eyes on. Life changing stuff. Definitely support the local community and hire a porter - it will help them... More

Firstly the price of permits seem steep but after the trek we felt it's worth paying because it's obvious that a lot of work has been put in on research, protection, maintenance , as well as converting the villagers, poachers to the protection and sustainable development of the animals. There are several groups and it's important to select one based... More

I cannot fault the park staff or the place itself. I have always wanted to do a gorilla trek and combined it with a Mount Bisoke trek the day before. My guides were Ignacio and Bosco on day 1 and day 2 respectively who were both outstanding. I had an issue when my tour guide for my Rwanda trip didn't... More
