Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Truly inspirational, the site guide offered an excellent overview of Asante royalty and history, as well as current practices. To get a real understanding of the Asante I would recommend going to the Prempeh II Museum also. They complement each other quite well.

The site it self is small. The story of how the sword was placed there is amazing. The energy here is very strong. Grab a book or two to learn more. Small but very informative exhibit

Not very big place, really only takes 10 min tops but inexpensive (5 cedi for foreign adults as of 2/2019) and worth a quick tour. It has the sword that Okomfo Anokye placed in the ground ~400 years ago to unify the Asante empire. It has the sword, some pictures, and replicas of the famous gold stool. The guides there were very attentive and helpful

small area , its located at a hospital site so it's a busy area, but its an interesting cultural stop with lots of history and very significant for the Asante culture.

Found on the grounds of a large public hospital. This is an important cultural site for the Ashanti people. The sword had been stuck in the ground for over 300 years - held in place by spirits. No one, including Mohamed Ali, has been able to dislodge it. It was sometimes difficult to understand the guide due to his this thick accent. The tour lasted about 15 minutes.

Situated on the grounds of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, this site is seminal in Asante history. A 333 year old sword wedged in the rockface is one of the the centre artefacts and legends of the rich history of the Asante nation. The history of the Asante people is eloquently told by the young curator. On a good day you may run into the Asante king who regularly comes to pay his respects at this important and sacred site.

This was really worth a visit - I find the history of the Ashanti region very interesting, and it links up to what you learn in terms of history from visiting some of the other sites in Kumasi such as the Palace Museum. A very informative talk given by the guide also.

this is on hospital grounds...Its a good stopover IF you just happen to be in Kumasi...but don't make an extra trip out just to see the site. They do have a super (mini) bookstore - very tiny, but has some indigenous books that youre not likely to find elsewhere,
