Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I loved my visit to the Delta. I got to see so many different types of animals. I have never seen such a variey of wildlife and the setting along the river was truly beautiful. I loved the opportunity to spend time on water and land and would recommend it on any travel to Botswana.

Really is a fantastic place to see. The Okavango Delta which starts off as a Kavango in Angola is a UNESCO world heritage site in Maun Botswana. The Delta is a vast inland river in Northern Botswana. It’s one of the most spectacular places to visit in search of wildlife. It’s home to hippos, elephants and crocodiles. On dry land the wildlife includes lions, leopards, giraffes and rhinos.

The 1000th World Heritage Site, the area covers more than two million hectares of wetlands and seasonally flooded grasslands. The Moremi Game Reserve is part of the delta. It is an excellent place to take a mokoro ride, the edges of the boats but inches above the waterline, skillfully guided by boatmen. The game viewing is very good.

Amazing experience to spend 2 nights in the delta. No facilities in this untouched area.
The campsite was enough for a group, able to swim in the river (with no chemical used), had bush walks, studied tracks etc.

We explored the Okavango delta with Sanctuary Stanley's camp during the dry season (late May) and I have to say that the Okavango delta is one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen in Africa. The amount of animals and the variety of animals that we saw...well, we've never seen that many before. And when the rains come and the entire area floods, the same animals are still there, but their habits/behaviors change accordingly. So we're longing to go back during the rainy season to see the entire area again...but completely new to us again. Definitely go here!!

Did an overnight excursion to Okavango Delta. This was a wonderful experience and highly recommend for other solo, couple or family travellers. Camping out in the wild, chatting to the locals, going on bush walks are all a major not to be missed highlight!

Camped here for a couple nights on a group tour. Activities included poler transport to and from the campsite, a couple walks around the delta, a poler cruise along the waterways at dusk, a swim in the waterways, and songs around the camp fire at night. A great experience, even including the time we nearly got charged by an elephant that was startled by our approach (but our poler handled it fine). One of the highlights of our Africa tour.

The Delta has been on my wife’s bucket list for many years, so it was great that we finally managed to visit and, due to covid, with relatively few tourists. Apart from our game drives, we decided to take a scenic flight (with Major Blue Air out of Maun) which is great if you don’t mind a small plane and a few bumps here and there.

We saw all of wildlife we’d hoped for as well as getting a much better appreciation of the delta.

A beautiful place but our arrival coincided with the low water season, as such I feel we didn’t get the full delta experience.

However the guided nature walk across one of the lowlands was very ethereal. Being on foot so close to such amazing animals was an experience to treasure.
