An utterly gorgeous location just outside Xepeneche, which is quite pretty itself. According to other reviewers, it can be hideously crowded, but when we arrived there was no one else there, not even the locals who charge a fee. Perhaps it's only on cruise ship...More

I visited jinak Bay on a cruise ship. If visiting on a cruise ship, you do need to book this on the ship comma or you will be disappointed, as they only let 100 people in the morning and 100 people in the afternoon visit...More

Pristine coral reef that is limited to 100 people per day, 50 am & 50 pm. Idyllic marine reserve, however there is no beach. Just some stairs to access the water. It's actually about a 20min walk from the tender pier.

I snorkel at any given opportunity! Baie de jinek is on my top 3 with Fiji and The Great Barrier Reef! Definitely worth the short walk and small $16 fee per person to enjoy a few hours of amazing scenery in and out of the...More

For a start the entrance fee seems to apply on days cruise ships are in. We were there with only 4 others. No one to take the fee. The water was crystal clear, fish fantastic, coral good. Best snorkeling experience ever.

We snorkelled here on our recent P&O cruise, having purchased the passes prior to our cruise. The passes cost $16AUD each and our family of 4 all felt that we'd got our money's worth within the first few minutes. The variety and colours of fish...More

So beautiful, rich and diverse marine life. I loved it, the highlight of Lifou. Such a hidden gem. Just make sure you book with your cruise to avoid disappointment as they only allow minimal people a chance to snorkel. Also, bring flippers as they don't...More

Jinek Bay is a fantastic and easy snorkeling experience. Easy access, and loads of beautiful fish. The coral is not particularly colourful but the fish are. Easy for all experience levels and ages. Limited numbers so get in quick.

No not that new, may be better known as Jinek Bay. What may vary is whether certain cruise lines have it on their list of shore excursions. Has been a marine conservation area for some time.

Not if you drive there in your own car and have your own gear.
