I just came back from the 3 day salt flat tour. I and the rest of the group had a experience of a lifetime.

The sights that you see on the tour are simply breathtaking. The stories are very interesting and everything went smoothly. The food was okay to good, witch is impressive if you think of how remote the places you spend the night are.

We ended up with a Spanish tour even though we don't speak Spanish. Because almost everything was sold out. We were a bit worried about how it would go, but our guide Henri that apparently only spoke Spanish, took up the challenge like a boss.

Henri made sure that all our needs were met and did an absolutely fantastic job of telling about the many sights in English.

I can't recommend you enough to ask for Henri as your guide. Even if you only speak English. We learned a lot of Spanish and at the same time Henri definitely improving his English.
It was lovely to see his passion and how he gave it all, to do it in English

3 days/2 nights private tour (2 adults) with Henry. It was an amazing experience and the highlight of our trip.

Communication with Salty Desert Aventours before the trip was good and they answered some questions we had. Henry was our driver and guide, and he was perfect for us. Friendly, polite, professional and easygoing, we enjoyed our three days with him. Gave good information at every stop, answered our questions, and kept us informed on what was coming next . Punctual and ready in the mornings (we read reviews of other companies' problems with drunk guides; not with him), and great managing time so that we stuck to the schedule, while also leaving some room to be flexible. He was also an outstanding driver and an excellent photographer. At the time he was taking English classes, so I expect him to be available to give tours in both languages soon.

The places visited and the landscapes are out of this world. And to be in the middle of nowhere, in such a beautiful place, was an amazing experience. Our 4WD was in good condition. Food throughout the tour was very good, in both quality and quantity. The hotels/hostels had clean, comfortable beds, hot water and enough blankets for a good night's sleep during September cold temperatures.

I recommend Salty Desert Aventours and Henry, a 100%. If you can, go for the private tour, for the added comfort and flexibility. We had a wonderful time.

We took a 3-day, 2-night tour. The landscape was beautiful. The guide, who spoke English, was creative in taking our picture in the Salar d'Uyuni. Hotels were decent.

However, we were very disappointed with the guide, who was more of a driver than a guide. He gave almost no explanations and didn't wait until the group was complete before giving information. On the second day, he still didn't know our first names and left us in the car, without noticing our absence (we couldn't get the front seat down to get out of the vehicle).
During the 4-5 hours drive back to Uyuni, the guide never spoke to us or asked us a question. He didn't even get out of the vehicle on arrival to help us collect our bags, nor did he say goodbye.

Positives - Incredible views, we had Marco the tour guide who was just amazing! Took amazing photos and was really interesting. Marco, get those photos on an instagram account! :)
Negatives - the food was very basic and sometimes not enough! Also it shouldn't really be called 3 day tour as the final day ended about 9:30am!

I just finished the best 1-Day tour of the Uyuni Salt Flats with this company and had nothing but the best experience! The whole team was entirely accommodating, picking us up directly at the airport from our flight and whisking us away on an all day tour with our limited time.

We had Fernando as our driver for the day and he was fantastic, especially when it came to the fun photo session where he took amazing photos of us all – even some extra fun night shots as well.

All in all, this company is fantastic, and highly recommend the 1-day tour if you have limited time in Uyuni like we did. We got to see and do so much in one day thanks to the great staff and well planned tour.

We did the salt flat 3 day tour with salty desert and it really was a brilliant tour however we did encounter some difficulties which should not have occurred considering the price of the tour and how reputable the company is. First off our tour guide was 10/10 from beginning to end (excellent pictures which we will treasure) and thankfully had our safety in mind at all times however this was not the case for the company owner. Our tour had 2 cars (one guide and a separate driver for the other car). Unfortunately the other car was not fit for this tour and encountered multiple difficulties on the second day. It should not have been allowed on the road! Eventually the car gave in on the second day and completely broke down when we were in the middle of the desert at 5.30 pm on our way to the magical hot springs (which we all wanted to attend due to seeing the stars and Milky Way at night- a lot of us did this tour with this company due to this activity). After much time spent on the cars by our tour guide and the other driver we had to sacrifice the magical moment at the hot spring that night. Immediately, Our tour guide stressed to us that it would be unsafe to continue to travel in the dark due to the poor light and mass isolation we would encounter that night. If anything happened we would be alone in the desert in the freezing cold. We agreed but were VERY bummed about the whole situation. We decided to rest and have dinner in a nearby lodge however it was made clear to us the manager/ owner of the company (wallet tight Waldo) disagreed and wanted us to continue the journey even though our safety was at risk- as mentioned above. We went against the managers decision, had some wine and nice dinner that night and had an early 5am start the next day to ensure we could do all activities which were previously missed. Our tour guide and separate driver were so upbeat throughout this whole situation (also spent the night trying to fix the mess of a car they were given). The whole 3 days were really fantastic as we met really great people, saw fantastic landscapes and made unforgettable memories. Its such a shame that one memory will be how desperate and shocking the tour company treat their staff who do all the hard work to make everything run smoothly. A big fat yes to doing the tour but please make sure your car is fit for the isolating desert. It is very important!

This was one of my favourite experiences in 3 months travelling Latin America. Miguel was an incredible driver on very difficult roads, I felt safe the entire time. He was also an excellent guide and an amazing photographer. The accommodation is as expected, first night was fine, second was cold and run down (think limited electricity, internet and water) but this is every where on the salt flats regardless of the company. The food was fine, plenty and warm, I recommend the vegetarian option. The company rents sleeping bags and you should definitely use these. The hot springs at sunset were incredible. The salt flats, volcanoes and flamingos and landscapes were just unforgettable and I would recommend this trip to anyone. Ask for Miguel! The trip really comes down to your driver/guide. And Miguel made our 3 days unforgettable. Gracias!
