This is a very nice activity to get away from the city
Jul. 2019
You can enjoy fresh air at the top (maybe a bit cold up there) and get away from the crowds in the city. The view is spectacular. Once you are there, you can hire a jeep to take you down to the other side of the mountain to a place called Galipan where you can enjoy some nice cuisine. It is well worth it.

Entertaining
Nov. 2019
Could be in better condition, but as everything the Venezuelan government takes they ruin it, good place to visit, best views of Caracas and the sea (La Guaira). It cost $20 each to ride the cable That's the tourist rate. Locals pay a lot less so try to pass as local. Trip up to the top is spectacular so is worth the price. The top is a bit like a fair. Lots of food stalls & entertainment. Views very good but try to go on a nice day otherwise can be cloudy. Well worth doing
At the top you can go on a Toyota 4x4 to eat at several restaurants in converted houses in the town of Galipan it is expensive but the view, the ambiance and the place overcomes it

Cable car ride Caracas
Sep. 2019 • Couples
Took a taxi from hotel. First mistake as cost us$20. A local advised taxi should be between us$2 to 4. Taxi was very nice tho & looking at the state of the local taxis you get what you pay for. It cost us$20 each to ride the cable & luckily we took ID with us. That's the tourist rate. Locals pay a lot less. Trip up to the top was spectacular tho so worth the price. The top is a bit like a fair. Lots of food stalls & entertainment. Views very good but quite cloudy at our time tho & it did rain. well worth doing.

A good attraction while you are in Caracas. It is a nice ride to he top of Avila mountain where you can have an snack or a good meal. Walk around and enjoy the nature. Good place to see the city from above. Some time you can see both the city in one side and the caribbean sea in the other. This is defitnetly a Must see attraction while you are in Caracas

I have been to the Avila several times. I have also used the cable car to reach the Avila. It is safe and clean. Much better than the ones in Turkey to be honest.

must see in caracas
Jan. 2018
on my opinion is must see in Caracas, even if Avila is not something realy exiting but its nice half day trip. But remember as tourist and not Venezuelan citizen youll pay 20 us doll for return trip...and you can pay it only with cash or your homeland debit/credit card. Its good tip to go to Avila with jeeps which they start from close parking lot at Teleferico. If you want you can book jeep only for you and your friends and costs for all about 5 doll.,or if you are individual you can join group trip for about 1.50 doll per person. And its interesting ride up to hill with those Toyotas...trip is about 15 minutes...and from Avila you go back with Teleferico as in this case you buy entering ticket to Avila park which costs for everytbody about 1 dollar including Teleferico back to Caracas.
