My husband and I came here for my 40th birthday, it was a bucket list trip. Everything I had read about the island in terms of travel was correct so it pays to do your resrarch. We stayed at Hotel Puku Vai which was on...More

From small to huge a line of Moai sit on a crest on a hill. Must be one of the most photographed sights in Easter Island and what everyone goes see. Amazing sights

moai moai moai. That's the (deservedly) big draw. They are amazing, and theories about them abound. It's remarkable to see them in person. You are immediately transported.

Get a good guide to take you round all the different aspects of the park and to explain all the history of the moai and the island. You will get far more out of your visit than going by yourself. Fascinating.

Yes its true ..the moais are the best but Rapa people are not most nice people..are rude..and very unfriendly. They dont have any idea how you have to treat a tourist. If not for the moais there's nothing more things to do. Maybe a diving...More

this really takes your breath away. One of the few restored sites (all Moais were toppled during clan wars) this particular place gives you the best sense of scale and majesty

While I think the “foreigner” fee is quite high, we did enjoy our visit and would recommend it. This is the only place in the world with Moai and the specific Rapa Nui culture, and it is definitely a fascinating place to see!

The bucket list trip did not disappoint. Forget that it's an island in the middle of nowhere and make the trip to a time and place like nowhere else on earth. Pay homage to to the skilled artwork on display throughout the island, which is...More

You cannot. Cash only at the National Park ticket booth inside the airport. I believe it was $80 USD ( September 2017).

Hi Deborah. You have to pay cash (USD) for the park entrance fee. You actually pay the fee at the airport as you enter the country.

A friend of mine was just there and said there were very few mosquitoes. It's usually very windy there and the wind keeps them away. Just in case, have a mosquito repellent with you.
