This is one of the highlighted must see when on Easter Island. There are many moais in various stages of being built. Appears frozen in time. Do not miss this when on the island.

Rano Raraku was another of my favorite places that we visited during our time on Easter Island, not only can you see many Moai in varying stages of construction, but you can also see what would have been “the largest” of all the Moai, had...More

This is the most interesting site to visit on Easter island, the quarry place where all Moai carving took place. The national park ticket only Allows entry once to this site, so ensure you give yourself enough time to explore. There are almost 400 Moai...More

This is one of the places that put this island in the tourist world map. You must be able to walk uphill to the volcano and then down to where the moais were carved in volcanic stone. Being in a paradise like place the tribes...More

We spent several hours here. There is a lot to see especially if you have a good guide who can explain and point out all the areas. The caldera view shows several statues on the back side of the mountain quarry as well.

Best to visit with a guide who can explain what is known about the maoi making and transporting to other sites on the island. Requires some walking but can be done by most people at a slow pace. Is very interesting and is a good...More
