Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Its not the most interesting of trails and poorly transited, but its a leisurely hike along the gentle slopes of the Madre and Hija lakes. Both ends of the hike have nice views of the peaks but the middle portion is rather unremarkable. It basically connects the Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Torre trails close to the Poincenot and De Agostini campsites.
The trail is 7 km long and mostly rather flat and narrow but that doesn't mean you need gaiters for example. The last km near Torre trail does go downhill through forest but nothing challenging. There are some stony beaches as the heads of the lakes where to rest and eat lunch.
Beware that there is no fast running glacial streams from which to refill your water so bring enough for the 7km. Of course you could always take water from the lake but wouldn't do so without filters/tablets.
There's not much traffic on this trail and in the time it took to hike we only met 5 other people total.

Wonderful trail. We went to RÃo Eléctrico by transfer. We made the walk to Piedra del Fraile and when we returned we took the Laguna de los Tres trail and then took the Madre e Hija trail. That place is magical. Don't miss it! You walk a lot but you enjoy it 200%
