Glad you could make it and that we still had something left that you liked! Good luck to Kirsty for the future.
My friend and I found this by pure chance after picking up a craft guide for Skye (I'd highly recommend getting one!!)
Both of us knitters- myself an artist too- this shop was a dream... the yarns beautiful and all dyed using natural colours!
I was only able to make it to one yarn shop while on Skye, and I was glad it was Shilsadair. The selection of absolutely lovely hand-dyed yarns was superb and the service was very friendly and helpful. The shop is located in the most...More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We certainly must have one of the best views of any yarn shop! The building was actually purpose built in 2001. For a few years it adjoined the dye shed which...More
This is out of the way, but well worth making the effort. The wool quality is superb and I loved the fact they were specially dyed to represent the local countryside e.g. Bracken, heather. The lady working there was helpful in advising me about patterns...More

I'm so pleased you enjoyed your visit to our shop. It is a long way to come but there are plenty of other interesting things to do on the Waternish Peninsular so well worth the journey.
Lovely little shop selling naturally died yarn and home made products. Interesting small exhibit re the dying process. Probably limited appeal but a must for anyone interested in knitting who visits this part of Skye

Thanks for taking the time to write a review about your visit. We are fortunate that so many people make the trip to see us.
We drove out to Waternish primarily to go to the Shilasdair Shop. Based on the description we read - disclaimer- it may not have been written by the Shilasdair Shop - we were expecting more products to purchase that were already made and to see...More

So sorry you were disappointed by your visit. We don't offer an opportunity to see the actual dyeing taking place as most of the dyeing happens in the winter months when visitors are rather scarce. I'm not sure what more we could offer in terms...More
Truly beautiful location.
Comfy chair available for Dad - though he needed assistance to get back out!
Wonderful yarn choices, buttons, patterns, beautiful colours - so unique - what could be more special than souvenir yarn dyed here on Skye. I chose a wonderful green/blue...More
