This is a different beach experience. Looking for thrills? def come. the water is gorgeous, but people are here for the planes. It is definitely something I would recommend to everyone if they are in the country!

Loved St. Maarten. Seeing the planes come in over the beach is quite an experience. The sand on the beach was soft and the water was warm, although a bit rough.

The beach itself is great. Beautiful white sand and easily accessible. The water can be rough with constant waves riding in.

A must do if you are on the island great atmosphere good laugh. We spent a couple of hours there enjoying a few beers and of course watching the airplanes. Good bar there 2 hours is enough but everyone to their own.

We got there early, 10am, and parked at the Driftwood Restaurant and Bar for no charge. We rented longers and an umbrella for $20 from the Driftwood. It was a great day. Fun watching the planes arrive and depart. The water was beautiful and warm. The waves were rough at times and we found ourselves "sand surfing" in the breakers... More

Such a unique experience, playing in the water and watching the large jets fly over. It is a huge party scene but everyone was respectful of the children that were around. Apparently sometimes the beach is pretty washed out and rocky, but we were lucky and had plenty of beach to play on.

The guys let us out of the rental car for 10 minutes to take a few quick photos of the incoming/outgoing airplanes. I can't imagine spending a whole day on this tiny strip of beach with wall-to-wall chairs and bodies watching noisy arrivals and blowy departures. I recommend visiting the Baie Rouge or Mullet Bay Beaches.

THE end-of-runway beach you've seen on the internet. Yes jets come in low (they have to land) and yes people actually WANT to get jet blasted (not sure why as it is HOT and the sand hurts) but to each their own. Having a front-row seat with umbrella drinks at the ready is a good way to spend the day.

We visited the famed Maho Beach to see the planes come in and it did not disappoint! Definitely recommend spending some time here seeing the planes come in and have a few cocktails.

We visited this beach whilst cruising for the day - we used the taxi from the port and it was 18USD per person return (in a shared taxi), you paid for both ways in advance and was given a band for your return journey - appears taxis are plentiful and there was no problem. It is approx. 30 min journey.... More
