Having walked along the coast path from Minehead I spent an enjoyable couple of hours wandering around Porlock Weir in the sunshine. The little Boat Shed Museum was a surprise find, absolutely packed full of interesting exhibits and local information. I could have spent an hour there, but had a bus to catch, so will try to look in again another day.…

This little boat museum is very well displayed .all on one level .lots of local history and photos of old and recent . Would recommend any one visiting porloch to go inside

A winning museum in a number of ways; firstly its free (although they certainly welcome donations). Secondly it is very local but equally covers many nautical topics. It also has a section devoted to ihe coastguard and its first female commander - a telling account of the duties and responsibilities that this post had. For a small one room museum, there is a lot to see , and something for everyone . …

Tiny museum with free entry in Porlock Weir. A single room but well filled with interesting items. Definitely worth a quick visit.
