Return visit where we focused on the house due to the weather. Fascinating property. Coal room was new to us, and enjoyed visiting other areas we had seen before. Several very helpful guides.

First time at Audley End house despite going across the road to the miniature railway a few times. You could spend a good few hours here even at pace, and even most of a day if you take a leisurely stroll around the grounds. Cafe...More

An interesting place, especially for the chance to 'touch and feel' many of the artefacts (not everything, of course). A good day out - if you are an English Heritage member, it's worth a drive out to see it. Otherwise, perhaps a little pricey. Great...More

The place has a lived-in feel to it, despite not being so! Not too garish or money-grabbing. A few words of warning, though; beware the catering!

Audley End House was as big as a palace, after centuries of family decline and less power and money, now the house is about 1/5 left of what it was. The redesigned hall place and lovely libraries still have charming features. The Garden is super...More

Amazing grounds. The house is very nice. My kids loved it, especially upstairs where they can dress up and play with the childrens toys. Yet again free for me as a member my membership is coming in very handy. Would visit again.

Very good grounds, house was well-presented, especially the entrance hall. Café and play area for children, also a good place to learn about aspects of life when the house was a functioning dwelling.

I have been to Audley End many, Many years ago, but this time I took my husband and my children. It's easy to shoot past the entrance as it doesn't look like a public entrance, and it's the first place I've been too that didn't...More
