The Garden House is a 10 acre series of garden rooms, each planted differently, for seasonal interest. Visitors love the planting styles, 16th century ruins, bright colours and far reaching views over wild flower meadows. Children can roam free and find hidden corners and explore trails and trees. It is a wonderful place for garden enthusiasts, walkers and family visits. The tea room in the main house is renowned for freshly made treats and light lunches. A healthier options menu is very popular. Plants sold onsite at our well stocked plant centre are often propagated from the garden, so you will find interesting and unusual varieties that aren't commonly available elsewhere.

The tea rooms were lovely we had tea and cake on arrival then the Devon pasties for lunch they were really nice. If only we lived in Devon we would have visited several times in the... More

One of the finest gardens we have visited. We were luck to go at the time of year to see the massive magnolias and camilia's out in full bloom. A great mix of plants from the Acer area to the walled garden. The Garden House Tearoom worth a visit good food at reasonable prices and overlooking the garden. Plants were... More

We are local to the garden house and visit once a year on different seasons. My elderly mother was staying so visited on a lovely sunny warm day. It's an easy walk around the garden for all ages, ours between 10 and 82. Saw lots of spring flowers which were planted in a natural setting. Also used the kids trail... More

A lovely garden and, due to the large number of acers, autumn is the perfect time for us to visit - other times are great as there are lovely walled gardens and lots of other plant. The cafe also serves some really nice food. It is a bit pricey but not overly so. If you like gardens then this must... More

The gardens will soon be closed for the winter and this is a great place to visit at any time of the year. Today (at the end of October) there were still flowers and plants to admire and especially the colours of the Acers.

Have visited lots of times with and without children and always something new to discover any time of year for the plant enthusiast. The tea shop is lovely too for home cooked food.
