Welcome to one of King's Lynn most beautiful buildings, The Majestic Cinema. This stunning cinema was officially opened on 23rdMay 1928; with the year commemorated in the stained glass windows at the front of the building.

As an independent cinema, the Majestic prides itself on being a friendly place to come for all movie goers. The main attraction to the Majestic, beside its films, is the building itself and all the history that comes with it.

Today, the Majestic has three screens but back when it was first opened the Majestic had one two tier screen (where Screen 1 and 2 are now), and a ballroom (where Screen 3 is now). Over the years the Majestic has transformed but features from its past still live on within the building. You just need to know where to look.

When you next visit the Majestic look out for certain features like the stained glass windows in the main entrance, the circle of zodiac signs in the ceiling of Screen 1, the bouncy spring-layered floor in Screen 3, and the old stage in Screen 2.

Every year the Majestic takes part in King's Lynn's Heritage Day where you have the chance to explore the cinema in more detail and to learn about the buildings past. The Majestic puts on tours with knowledgeable staff always willing to guide you through its history.

Currently, the Majestic has three screens. Screen 1, with its ornate dome, seats 313. Screen 2, which holds 245 seats. This screen has disabled access and also has a superior quality hearing loop system. Screen 3 holds 113 seats and was originally the ballroom which closed 1977. All of our screens now have Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound installed.

This is a wonderful cinema with really comfy seats, shows all the latest films and sometimes the bar is open so you can sit and relax. How they manage to keep going is a miracle as all seats are only £4!!!!! Well worth a visit with friendly staff

A great independent cinema. Less than £5 for an adult ticket. Also great stained glass windows. When asked for payment, I said no, please take for two adults. Really enjoyed fantastic beasts....

Smallish in the middle of town. Old fashioned decor but it suits it. The film choice wasn't great but it had the major films. The price was amazing. Only £4!!!

The reviews that say it needs a refurb etc are correct, but if you like old places full of character, where you can see current films at such a cheap price, then it deserves five stars. It's perfectly clean and comfortable and only £4 a ticket, 2for1 with a meerkat code and runs a loyalty scheme that allows you to... More

£4 a ticket, it's clean, it's charming, it's near a safe car park and it's buzzing. It's a small cinema so you must check to see when films are showing, as these are limited. The only slight issue is there's no late night showing as it shuts at 10.00 pm. So no sneaking out on a date and having a... More

Average cinema. The cinema needs a major refurb though and I think they need to offer more of a varied amount of food and drink.

Been to this cinema several times in the last couple of months. First to visiting finding dory with my toddler, the screen kept freezing and being fast forwarded then freezing against most people including us left. Went back again few weeks later and was fixed. Went back in evening for a different film and no problems. Toilets are discusting and... More

This has been taken over a few years ago and seems to have new deeper comfortable seats, cup holders etc now. We went into a smaller cinema, temperature good, sound and screen good. Handy that you can book online before you go. They do good packages for kids Saturday cinema club thing and live broadcasts from the Old Vic, Ballets... More

The sound has always been poor but you put up with it as the tickets are cheap but the staff are getting worse. The last time I went, they were so rude I complained to the manager, who wasn't at all interested. I emailed a complaint and they didn't even bother to reply. I will never go back.
