Fabulous day on Premier Day Trip to Carlise

A long day, but really great. You pick the train up at 8 am at three bridges and meander through the countryside to Bath. You stop off at a couple of stations for water breaks ( for the train that is), and arrive back approx 9.30 pm. You can get breakfast lunch and afternoon tea on the train or just... More

I saw this all day trip advertised in a local paper and decided to book the premier service for 4th March. We left Euston Station London at 7.10 am and proceeded to the known pick-ups, before continuing our journey to Carlise. Walking to our carriage I had a thrill as we approached our first class carriage, with the tables laid... More

A most enjoyable and satisfying tour in Austria and Bohemia. The main activities were railway based but also opportunity to see the beautiful cities of Vienna, Pilsen and Prague, as well as smaller towns of Gmund and Trebon. Once out of Vienna the countryside was snow covered. Scenery varied from flat farmland to more hilly terrain and into mixed forests... More

First class Premier carriage; First class service; First class staff; First class organisation.Excellent food . I think the heading within Google search for a review written in 2012 is very out of date and very unfair. "You have been warned" which it states in capitals should read "Warned not to miss this company ". With a friend, we recently took... More

A fantastic steam-hauled day out from Manchester Victoria, around Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire, with enough time to explore Buxton. As usual on these trips, Premier Dining was well worth it, with first class service and restaurant quality food prepared and served on the move by Gravy Train Catering. The staff, paid and unpaid, are helpful, polite and courteous.... More

Our trip was CANCELLED FOUR TIMES with nothing but blame being passed on to the volunteers. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, this company will do nothing but let you down and blame anyone but themselves

Originally booked this last September, as advertised, for my three grown up sons and myself. The week before, I became aware, via enthusiasts websites, that this train would not run as intended and would run from Carnforth to Carlisle and back via Shap only due to "gauging" issues around The Cumbrian Coast route! I was somewhat annoyed about this as... More

What a day out with my Dad and brothers, excellent run up north behind 86259 Les Ross, shame the lights in the carriage weren't working until the fitter sorted at Carnforth was a bit dark going through tunnels, also bacon rolls ran out far too early, excellent run over Shap behind Scots Guardman with the legendary Steve Chipperfield driving, managed... We booked on the Cumbrian Mountain Express and travelled on 28 January 2017. Booked premium dining as a late Christmas present to ourselves. Train turned up on time. Welcomed on to the train and served a great breakfast. Steam loco attached at Carnforth and had a brilliant run over Shap in pouring rain. Served lunch before reaching Carlisle. After a... More

We travelled on board on Winter Cumbrian Coast Express in First Class. We wanted a change from standardised for a bit more comfort and see what was on offer. The staff on board were very friendly and always in view. The only slight issues were the warm pastries, sadly they were not and once the steam loco was attached the... More
