- jman26Glasgow, United Kingdom496 contributionsLovely BeachStayed in an apartment directly opposite the beach and we visited a number of times and found the beach to always be clean and lovely to swim in the clear waters. The general area has lots of facilities, including toilets, cafes and lovely restaurants, parking may be an issue and it always seemed busy with parked cars, especially during the day. Beach it’s self is more shingle and a pair of swim shoes is recommended, there are lots of beds and sun shades to rent, the beach has the sun from sunset to sundown when we were there.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
- Off their PManchester, United Kingdom4,015 contributionsAbsolutely wonderful! We are lucky enough to travel extensively, but this would be one of our favourite places anywhere. Compact and beautiful. It is a lovely place to spend long lazy days in the sunshine. Sunday is different when all the locals come down and it is absolutely packed. Parking can be a nightmare on that day, but otherwise you can usually find a spot somewhere along the front door up one of the side streets. The sea is calm, the beach lovely and it is lined with smashing beachside restaurants and bars. There are lots of nice shops as well and you can rent sunbeds and loungers for about €6 a day each.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 November 2023
- Off their PManchester, United Kingdom4,015 contributionsAs good as everWe have been coming to this area for donkeys years and never get tired of this amazing beach. It is just about perfect and has something for everyone whether solo travellers, couples or families. Parking can be a bit tricky at times but there is a newish multistorey car park on the edge of town should you not be able to get one of the free slots on the street. Kinect by a wonderful promenade the beach has entertainment for those wanting to swim, do yoga, jog, play volleyball or just lie on one of the Sun lounges available forhire. On the other side of the single Road are a multitude of bars, restaurants and shops where you can get anything you need for your day at the beach.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 April 2024

- dorla297 contributionsReally stunning scenery but beach a bit rough.Burriana Beach can be a challenge for anyone who has problems walking - not when you are down on the promenade but walking down the hill(and back up again) can take a real effort. There is limited parking near the sea front but a multi story a little further behind the main area. Once on the promenade the beach area is flat and backed by a number of bars restaurants and shops (with parking if you are lucky to get a space) so it makes for a pleasant walk. The beach itself is made up of sand and small gravel/pebbles and is well sheltered so waves are not too high in normal conditions. There are areas where you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas or bring some beach chairs and a cheap beach umbrella for a picnic. On an evening around about 6 to 7pm I noticed more parking spaces on the street behind the promenade if you intend to eat there.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 July 2024

This is a great, long beach of sand with cafes, bars, swimming, water sports, volley ball.
Lots of space and very popular. We went on a Friday in February and parking was a very big issue, we just got in after circling the roadside parking area a few times. In the season it would be impossible to park. You would need to park well away and walk or get there early. Relaxed atmosphere.

This is a place we know very well indeed but our latest visit was the best yet. The reason for this was because we had an apartment right on the beach and it made a massive difference. From here you could see the day unfold and it is non-stop entertainment!
The beach itself is beautiful. Well kept , beautiful to look at and lots of facilities such as showers and toilets along the way.
Beach loungers can be rented but they do get busy so it is probably worth booking in advance. The beach is lined with many, many great restaurants and bars and there really is something for everyone.
As a result, it gets very busy and parking can be a challenge to say the least. My advice is to get here as early as you can.

I last visted this beach 26 years ago, and thought it was a bit of a hidden gem. Now its like every resort along the Spanish coast. Mediocre eateries, luxury prices, beach cafes with no pride in their food, just get in get out, pasta for the masses. The beach is basically stony with the sandy part taken up with boat trips and more cafes.
Wish I'd stuck with my memories.

Burriana Beach provided a perfect end to our stroll from the other side of Nerja. The route is pedestrianised with interesting shops/views along the way. Burriana Beach has a wealth of eateries catering for every budget. Well worth a visit.

This beach was spotless clean, there were lots of places to rent lounge chairs with parasols, lots of wonderful places to eat, rentals of all sorts for waters sports, and clear beautiful water. I will never forget the feeling of floating along on my raft in the refreshing water looking out into the sea and then back at the amazing mountains. A huge plus, it was within walking distance from a good part of the homes in the Nerja, on the bus route, and had a wonderful taxi stop at the curb just across the street. We are from Florida, so we are accustomed to lifeguards, but have never seen the boat that travels back and forth looking for dangerous sea life and removing it. I could not believe they calmly scooped up jellyfish and relocated them so everyone had a great day.

Nice beach small pebbly and sand mixed . few good restaurants on the beach front . bakery ,supermarkets ,water sports etc . There must be approx 650 sun beds on this beach and you will be lucky to find one in the middle of July all reserved even if you go down for 9 in the morning people reserve them for the whole week and there are too many visitors for bed supply .even if you do get one you won't be able to see the sea because of the amount of people on the beach with umbrellas in front of you as the sunbeds are at the back of the beach .The water was clear and warm in July I did enjoy my stay in nerja but wouldn't go back in July it's overcrowded. You have to que to get in to the beach restaurant for afternoon dinner

is it possible to call to book a lounger in advance at burriana beach? In Italy, we are able to book at Beach Clubs in advance...but I don't see these clubs listed in Nerja.

Do you have to reserve the Balinese beds in person at Playa Burriana ? I have searched online for a way to reserve them and can't find anything. Thanks for any advice.

Sorry I'm unable to answer your question and I take it that you have tried to E mail the bar/restaurant that own the beds direct?
Written 1 June 2022
Yes I’m sure there are sun loungers. They are by a restaurant called AYGO and it has the name displayed up high, serves paella all day. Don’t know how much the loungers are as I’ve never hired on but they are there. Hope that helps

How far is burriana beach from the balcon?
Written 22 January 2020
To walk to burriana beach from the balcony will take about 10 minutes, if you go by car it will take about 5 minutes (the walk is pleasant but there are some small hills)

Are there any of the large Balinese sunbeds for hire?
Written 22 August 2019
Yes there is. I recommend booking at least a day in advance if going in high season. They are 22e for the day and have optional covers from the sun

Hi. I’ll be there in July. Wondering if it’s safe to leave towels on chairs, or even rent towels? Is there kayaking or boats to rent?
Written 11 June 2019
I would think leaving towels would be ok as some of the other responses have indicated. If you rent a lounge chair you will be provided to rent a towel, but surely at an additional charge. the beach has a lot of retail across the street from it so you could probably buy a towel at one of the stores. You'll have a great time! While in Nerja make sure to checkout the other beaches that are actually closer to the old town/city center. Make sure to go to Ayo's for Paella. Get there around 11:00 AM and watch them make enough Paella for 300-400 people....fascinating, and the restaurant is right on the beach!Enjoy!
