Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Arab baths are in the basement of what is now a museum building with exhibits of all kinds of Spanish life. Also a good view of the city from the roof terrace.
Entry is free.
The one disappointment was the general lack of information and explanation about the exhibits. Even in Spanish there is not enough information to understand the baths fully. No leaflet or guide to the place. It would be unreasonable to complain about the total lack of a information in any other language, but many other museums do provide information in other languages - perhaps they might look to produce a written leaflet at some stage

What a shame that there are such interesting things to see in Jaen and that due to parking problems, they cannot be visited. The visitor gets tired of walking around, there are not enough public parking spaces, there are no signs to access them, and they choose to leave Jaen without being able to visit it.
I speak from the point of view of the visitor who does not know the city and needs help from the institutions to facilitate the visit.

The Arab Baths were excavated and restored after a 16th century palace was built over them. These are the largest Arabic baths in Spain and were built over the Roman originals. The restoration is mostly plain brick but there were some areas with the original geometric decoration. There's not a huge amount to see but it's certainly worth a 15 minute visit. The palace courtyard itself is very pretty too and has examples of local cultural dress. As the baths are underground now most of the light wells are actually lights but the effect is the same.

It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city of Jaen and is the largest and best preserved Arab baths in Europe. Located in Villardompardo Palace, besides the bathrooms, it also houses the Naif International Museum of Art and the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs.
The visit is free.
Highly recommended.

There are more levels to this building than you would imagine at first sight. Each level takes you through a different era in local history and culture. I thought I would really only enjoy the remains of the baths themselves but there really is a lot more to see than just those.

This is a must visit for anyone on a trip to Jaén. It is the site of a surviving hamam bath from the Islamic period of Spain. The site is in superb condition, at the moment is free for brits to visit, and also contains many other displays of cultural interest, including for children. To finish the visit try the cafe which offers among the best value snacks and drinks to be found in Jaén which can be taken on a huge terraza with fantastic views of the city and surrounding countryside. Very highly recommended.

First class museum. Entry is free. According to the blurb, the best preserved Moorish baths in Europe/North Africa. Also has a good and reasonable cafeteria. Very friendly staff.

These Arab baths are along the cathedral and the castle a must see in Jaén. Restored by the local architect Luis Berges, won the Europa Nostra award in 1984. It is a delightful place full of history that gives the feeling of travelling back in time. On the other levels of the same building, you can enjoy learning about past hobbies and habits of the inhabitants of the city. You can finish your visit by having a drink with tapas in the bar on the second floor. It has a big "mirador" where there are tables to enjoy the refreshments purchased, the views are lovely!

The building and museum above the arab baths are very interesting and the bath remains are worth seeing. Free to EU citizens so Brits will have to pay after Brexit.

So glad we discovered this interesting museum. From the wonderful restored Arab baths in the basement to the roof top terrace and cafe with some of the best views over Jaén and much more in between, this museum is definitely worth a visit.
