Even if the style was a bit different and the Alcazar de la Puerta de Sevilla isn’t sitting on the top of a hill, still reminded me to the castles that we visited in Portugal. The Carthaginians built this veteran fortress in between 237 and...More

Carmona was our first stop after flying into Seville. It is only a couple Euros to visit and won’t take long to take the tour. The history is quite interesting although the guide is a bit confusing. The views of the country side cannot be...More

It’s interesting enough but a few of the signs are missing that might have helped understand the buildings. One tower was inaccessible but I don’t know why. One room had nothing in it. The place has potential to be so much better.

This is the impressive main gate to the old town. I did just some sight seeing, but it's also possible to see the upper levels.

This place is an authentic fortress, beautiful from the inside and impenetrable from the outside. The moorish influence is very strong. The art work is stunning. Well worth the visit.... but buy tickets ahead of time or else you will be stuck in a long...More

An impressive fortified gate to the town that indicates the potential scale of the medieval threats to it. It marks the start of the old town for visitors.

Carmona's city walls are even older than the Roman era here. The Carthaginians preceded the Romans, but even they were preceded by earlier settlers who, as long ago as the 12rh century BCE, built the first city walls and the Seville entrance. You can see...More
