The church is built in the unique baroque style and was completely restored both inside and outside about six years ago. The altar surround is carved out of wood and reaches from floor to ceiling whilst the walls are covered in frescos to complement the...More

A rather plain exterior for a church of this size , but, you must go inside as the intricasy of the stonework is truly wondrful. Main alter and some smaller chapels. Well worth visiting.

This church was heavily decorated and no doubt when lights are on is well worth a visit but during our visit it was a bit too dark to fully appreciate it.

We dashed to see this church before it closed at 13.30 and were so glad we did. The ceiling is superb as is the amazing carved altar.

Antequera has thirty churches and I think this is the best to visit.Situated in the old town with magnificent views. The whole church is very ornate with the highlight being the magnificent redwood altar.A testament to the extreme wealth of the Catholic church
