Wonderful

In a wanderful position, has a nice view on surrowndings. Well kept (revamped some years ago). There is a permanent armory with arms on show. You can reach it on foot.

This castle is one off the most beautiful castles in Slovenia. It is definitely worth visiting it if you are near by.

Admission is very cheap for what is offered. Everything is well laid out and clean. The furniture adds a lot to the effect and the collection is very impressive. You won't forget the view in a hurry.

We visited Ptuj on the sunday carneval morning and firstly we went to visit the castel. The history of the town and castel was great but I liked the exposition of traditional carneval costumes the most. Those costumes came "alive" after, when we visited the real carneval in the town center.

We had a memorable time at Ptuj castle and would definitely recommend a visit! My review though differs somewhat from the other reviews found here. First of all, while there is indeed a long and steep staircase leading from the town to the castle high on the hill, there is absolutely no need for visitors to climb all those stairs.... More

Went with kids to explore outside and inside of the castle. Lots of info, lots of fun! It is a great way to learn a lot about the past.

The Pruj castenis a big turist attraction and free of charge. So you can walk around the casle freely and enjoy the view. There is a caffe there where you cam drink a caffe and eat a cake.

If you are history lover, than you must visit this place. There is a beautifull view over the oldest city in Slovenia (Ptuj) and Drava river. Inside the castle you can see beautifull furniture, medieval weaponery,16th century paintings, tradicional costumes, etc.
