Worth a view. Free entry and well maintained. Buggy & wheel chair accessible. Great playground in the park and good access to town.

You have the castle ruins which you can go in to and explore, feed the ducks in the pond, run up and down the hills, and then visit the playground. Walking distance to town centre with lovely restaurants and cafes. No toilet facilities in the park though.

A great place to visit, the ramp makes it easier for disabled guests, look close to the walls you can see the old fire places and where the floors would have been. Outside the castle there would have been an area of some sort relating to the castle.

Is a good place to take a walk, because the castle is in a little park. Once upon a time I guess it was a castle...now all you can see are his ruins. Is nice but from my point of view there are more beautiful castles in Ireland to visit.

Roscommon town should be very proud of their park. It is well maintained and even has exercise equipment on site for adults. The castle is situated in this park. Found the information about what the castle looked in times gone by helpful but it was a pity that some of it was missing as it had been removed.

This castle is situated in a park which contains a crannog known locally as the Hill o' Bones. A crannog is a round house on silts in the middle of a marsh/river or lake for defense. There's a nice little path around the park and a playground. Good place for a picnic, exercising or just relaxing. Both the park and... More

Roscommon is a nice little place, worth a visit. The Castle is on the edge of town and surprise surprise it is a ruin - but it is standing the test of time and hopefully continues to do so. It is set in a very nice and relaxed public park setting, worth a visit just for the pleasant environment it's... More

This site is definitely worth visiting. There is no roof and no guided tours. This is a place you can explore on your own. Very interesting architecture.
