Having been to a few concerts at the Castle, this was an opportunity to view the Castle from the inside. Such a pity a fire almost destroyed it in 1991, altho' a wonderful restoration job has been carried out. Great to see so much was saved. The Ballroom is absolutely stunning and thankfully in good shape. Many weddings are carried... More

We were coming to the end of our two weeks in Ireland and weren't sure that we wanted to visit one more castle but we were glad we did. The guy that gave the turn was great and we learned a lot of history about the castle and area. We even got to meet Lord Henry Conyngham the owner of... More

We were on a short trip to the area when we paid a brief visit to the cafe in the castle (I have been at functions in the castle, which I can highly recommend). The cafe was, to say the least of it, of very inferior standard. The sandwiches were pre-made, ice cold and far from tasty. We were called... More

We visited from the Manor Village of Slane a Georgian masterpiece, spoiled to only by the roar of traffic, a modern blight on all our lives The castle was a wonder, despite a ruinous fire the resultsf which have been restored, the Castle is a must see. Some of features are so beautiful, so historic, that to miss them, when in... Visited Slane Castle on Bank Holiday Monday and was very impressed with the tour. We were shown around over 2 floors and were even allowed to sit down on the couches in one of the sitting rooms. normally when a tour is in a stately home everything is roped off and you are not allowed to touch anything. our tour... We stopped to do this castle tour on the way back to Dublin airport (only 35 mins away). We had a young lad who did the tour and he was EXCELLENT! So knowledgeable and passionate about the castle and the village. He really made the visit worthwhile and were very impressed. The castle is great but more like a very... More

The Castle looks impressive from the outside, unfortunately after the fire very little of the interior and furniture is left with the exception of the entrance hall and beautiful ballroom. The interior is tired and dated and feels like a 3 star hotel.
