Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice waterfall that is a bit off the beaten track. Not hard to get to, and was also a filming location for Game of Thrones. The weather seemed much rougher here than even ten miles away. We enjoyed what was really our first Iceland stop. Hardly any other people.

I do not understand why so few people know about this place! We absolutely loved visiting here, it was just us right until we were leaving when another couple arrived.

It only takes 5 mins to get down to next to the waterfall from the car & you can get really close.

It’s beautiful & we will definitely pay another visit on any future trips to Iceland!

This is a stunning quiet spot! We practically had the whole place to ourselves. It was the first waterfall we’d seen on our Golden Circle trip! Beautiful. I believe it was used for filming Game of Thrones. But top tip - don’t bother going if you’ve already seen Gullfoss. It may disappoint!

I loved this waterfall - no one else was there when we pulled up. You can walk up to the top for a great view, or walk along the bottom. Definitely worth going to.

I would say, a must visit, if you are in Iceland. Not far from Reykjavik. No people in the end of May - and I do not understand, why. It is nice for a short walk and has several places to take pictures from.

Albeit not the most majestic waterfall (by Icelandic standards) this waterfall was pretty special as it was featured on Game of Thrones and felt like it was a private waterfall as most tourists don’t stop here. It’s about a 10-20 minute walk each way from the parking lot (find a safe way to start to the path down and then a path begins to form). I’d budget 60 minutes or an hour plus here depending on if you want to feel like you have a private waterfall.

We had read about these falls online from people in Iceland who said this was a location where Games of Thrones had filmed that was beautiful and not crowded. Loving waterfalls we couldn’t resist taking a short detour to see for ourselves. There were several other people there but not at all crowded. It is indeed a nice view and was worth the stop for us. If you are in a rush to get through the Golden Circle due to a time constraint then this stop might not be for you. If you have some time, stop by and enjoy the view!

This unique place is located near the route of Golden Circle and is nice to go there early in the morning when is no other tourist and sun is rising above the waterfall.

We visited twice, mainly due to weather (which wasn't that bad the first visit) and there was noone else there either time.

Pity as it is a nice waterfall that is not hard to get to nor far from the main road to Thingvellir

We found this small waterfall on our way from the accommodation. It is a relatively hidden small waterfall, but it makes it is a magical place to stop and a short walk.
