Very close to the outer ring road. We stopped to see it spout. And it puts on quite a show. Glad we were there, and not standing in it's line of hot water.

A natural phenomenon occurring the in the area. Very interesting to watch, as it erupts every 4 mins. You can even see the water boiling . The ground around can be very slippery..

Even in the pouring rain, it was beautiful! My 5 year old daughter thought this was absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the stop!

Amazing stop along the ring road. It is just so cool to see a natural site like this. Where else can you see something like that?

We enjoyed staying here for a but to watch the geyser explode for a few times. Be prepared for the usual terrible sulfur smell, but otherwise, a good stop while on the island.

It depends on whether you take route 1 north out of Reykjavik or to to the south east. It is highly likely that your hire car will have a satnav so you can programme this with Geysir and it will take you there. We did this... More
