The Caves have been renovated the way they looked when the last Cave People in Iceland lived there only a Century ago. Join us in a Guided tour in the Caves and their Surroundings and we will bring the story to life with amazing tales about how they lived, their struggles and their happiness.

On the road beween Laugarvatn and Thingvellir, 40 kms from Reykjavik, one turns towards the rugged Icelandic mountains covered in mist and, after a short drive, hidden away in a desolate valley, is a cave that used to be inhabited by an icelandic family less...More

Iceland is different and that is its main attraction. This attraction illustrates that difference . Check it out and go back in time with a great storyteller with a great story. You will not be disappointed

This is a very interesting and unusual stop which can make your Golden Circle experience even more memorable. I suggest going there, take the cave tour, get some coffee and move on. It is about an hour detour with the tour.

We had a great visit with the “cave people”! It was interesting to hear their story and to see their home. We also enjoyed hearing stories and facts about Iceland and the surrounding area. Our tour guide was friendly and informative and obviously very enthusiastic...More

Visited the Cave people site and highly recommend this for anyone on the Golden circle tour. It's an interesting insight into how 2 families lived in the area and Laura brought the place to life with stories. There is an area for refreshments which surpasses...More

Quite different to all the other sites and attractions you will come across along the Golden Circle, but well worth the 10 minute detour.

It's a couple of miles on a gravel road. Not too much to see. The landscape around it is picturesque but I think there are so many cool places to see in Iceland, this wasn't one of them in my opinion.More

Hi To bad you couldn´t go inside and hear the story of the people that lived there, that´s a central part of understanding how ordinary people in Iceland lived only 95 years ago. We offer guided tours where we bring people inside the cave and...More

The road was rough. We had a campervan 4x4 but we took it slow to be cautious and it was fine. We thought the house was cool. We did not go inside, we just walked around. This was a great leg stretch.
