Worth seeing
Jun. 2021 • Couples
This is right on the ringroad, has a nice walking path, and takes maybe 15 minutes. I found it interesting. Worth stopping and stretching.

Nice pit stop
May 2020 • Couples
Really cool place for a quick stop, if you're driving on the South side of Iceland. Usually is not too busy since it's not a typical stop for people.

Loved this place!
Oct. 2019
We parked and hiked the short trail to see these lovely basalt formations steeped in legend!
The scenery is so cool and you cannot see these formations from the road, so it feels like a hidden treasure. Legend has it that you cannot move or displace any rocks in the are or the dwarves will curse you. We took several photos here but were very careful to not disturb anything!
Great stop on the Ring Road - loved the geology of the area.

Giant dwarfs
Aug. 2019 • Couples
Close to road nummer one you will find this two-headed rock formation. From the parking area just follow the marked track and you will step in between the two dwarfs, according to the tale they have been there for a while. Interesting rocks and well worth a visit. Enjoy your tour on Iceland and these dwarfs should be a part of it.

Neat basalt columns just off Ring Road
Jun. 2019 • Family
Just off the ring road, with a hike under two minutes, are some cool basalt column formations. You can't see them from the road, you have to hike around to them, but it is definitely worth the time to see these up close. You can climb on the lower columns, but they can be slippery in the rain. If you missed the basalt columns at the black sand beaches near Vik, this is a good substitute.

Cool attraction with easy hike
Jun. 2019 • Friends
basalt columns after a short hike. Right off the ring road. Was an easy stop and a quick photo opportunity. Nice to break up the ring road on the way up to diamond beach.

Beautiful formations of columnar basalt!
Jun. 2019 • Couples
Barely 13 km east along Route 1 away from the "Church floor" of Kirkjugolf sits this beautiful formations. It is not visible from the main road nor its parking lot. We walked a short distance south of the parking lot and down a slight slope before reaching here. Looking back between the two clusters of columnar basalt gave a magnificent and picturesque view with Foss a Sidu far in the distance right between these two clusters!

No regrets stopping here for the view!

Geological Formation
Jun. 2019 • Family
The Dwarf Rocks are beautiful formation of columnar basalt in geological transformation eroded and shaped by glacier and waves looking like man made but is naturally transformed. Naturally beautiful sights and majestic views.

Worth 5 minutes
May 2019 • Friends
This is truly a hidden gem. You can't see it from the road and would otherwise miss it. You can get a beautiful shot of the waterfall framed by the basalt walls, just another beautiful moment in nature to be had in Iceland. Why not take it?

Easy stop

On a meticulously planned trip, this spot kept up despite lack of hype. Very few folks here, picturesque like everything else. Worth my time.
