We found this tour through "vulkanresor.se" and we strongly recommend a visit. The horses were easy to ride (also for an amateur as myself) and the guides were kind and competent. It was easy to tell that they treated the horses with much love and due care. The rides were made in small groups (we were only five individuals including... More

A well organized business - the tour is accompanied by an experienced guide - and is taking just over 2 hours - Riders will be supplied with waterproof and warm clothing - just in case it rains. The tours are very popular and this one in particular was great - because the weather was brilliant - and it was thoroughly... More

These people were fantastic! They took the time to get to know how comfortable you were with the horses and then kept checking on everyone in the group to make sure everyone was having a good time, not scared. I would recommend this group to anyone and everyone who visits Iceland 😃

10/1/16 @ 9 AM. Riding an Icelandic horse is a must for anyone traveling to Iceland. Booked the Tour 3b – Soft River Banks Tour (2.5-3 hours riding) We drove to the stables and arrived just in time. Plenty of parking. The stables are well maintained and the horses well taken care of. Eld Hestar offers a variety of gear... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the 1-2 hour trek through the lava fields, the weather behaved for the length of the trek. We booked the day before and could have possibly booked for a 4th member on the day. we were met by friendly guides who had knowledge of the area. the 'tolt' was comfortable once you got the hang of it,... We decided to take a riding tour without prior booking. We showed up at Eld Hestar and were able to get a tour an hour later. We took the 1 hour tour, because even though I'm an experienced competitive rider, my husband has only sat on a horse once. Our tour was just the two of us and a guide,... More

My son and I did the HotSprings day tour with our wonderful guide Antonia. We experienced all 4 seasons in one day... Sun, hail, rain, wind and back to sun. It was so much fun! A few tips for those thinking of a day long tour: 1. Ladies - wear a sports bra 😳2. Wear good waterproof hiking shoes/boots. There's... More

I went on a 5A tour, hot springs tour which lasted about 6 hours. The view was amazing, the guides were super friendly and helpful. I wish we were given a little more time at the hot springs. We were given one hour to hike up to and down from the hot springs which is 15 minutes each way, eat... More

We are life long horsemen so we are pretty critical of these types of places. First off the ponies are very well cared for and in very good health. Second the guides are first class. They do a very good job of getting you on the right pony and in the right group of people. I highly recommend this group... More

Even though we are beginner riders, we thoroughly enjoyed the horse ride, hike and dip in the hot springs despite it being quite windy. Our guide Denise was very friendly and helpful as we learned to get our horses to 'toelt' rather than trot. It's a good idea to bring a towel and change of clothes after the swim so... More
