Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I know that not speaking Greek is less than ideal but the response to a perfectly polite question was nothing other than rude. The ‘exhibition of embroidery’ was non existent if we were directed to the right place.

I enjoyed seeing this small monastery while in the area and catching a glimpse of what life would have been like here over the centuries.

For me, it was one of the cosiest monasteries among the six I visited. And with fewer tourists, too. It is a lovely small monastery with a stunning view of Kastraki. You will, however, have to climb a little. The admission fee is three euros, as it is in all six monasteries.

On road parking outside. Quite a longer walk than most of the other monasteries, only Holy trinity is as long, a few hundred metres walk along a concrete driveway with several uneven wooden pathways to cut off some of the bends then 180 steep steps to the entrance. Like all the monasteries, the chapel decorated with religious scenes is the highlight, not a large chapel but worth the walk.

This monastery is built into the rock rather than on top of it so it has a unique appearance. Be sure to go inside and see the elaborately frescoed church as well as great views of other monasteries.

Getting to the top of the monasteries in Meteora is a hike. This one wasn't too bad. They had lots of benches and places to sit as you hiked up the hill. You can take your time, and sit in lovely spots to rest as you hike up. The artwork inside this monastery is beautiful. And the view from the very top is astounding. Worth a visit.

This is perhaps the smallest of the 3 monasteries we visited in Meteora. The view over Kalambaka and Kastraki is fantastic from the top, but be warned that the price of the view is a lot of stairs (close to 300)! It felt like the hardest climb of the all the monasteries we visited, but it made the rewarding view that much more enjoyable. Entry is €3pp and skirts are provided for female visitors.

An additional tip about Meteora: If you're looking for accommodation make sure you check out the incredible guesthouses in Kastraki! You'll get to effectively live right next to the monasteries and rock formations!

very small but beautiful monastery. Fantastic view all around. The first one to rest on your hiking tour up to the rest of the monasteries of the Meteora region. The main little church helps you to isolate and pray

This small monastery, wrapped around a rock, is totally worth the climb for the grand views of the valley and the other monasteries as well as for the small chapel, decorated with fine byzantene icons.
