This center is one of our favorite memories of Denmark. We are grateful that places like this exist to preserve history and the way of life of previous generations. The buildings are very authentic and even have wood burning pits inside where applicable. My kids loved the fighting lessons.

A definite "do" is to get the experience card when you buy your tickets. With the card, the user can shoot an arrow, make a silver coin, and use a drawknife. The kids enjoyed interacting with the animals and staff.

I visited for my sister's birthday - and we all had a wonderful time. Lots to see and do, and a great little gift shop on site (we were lucky enough to get our hands on a 'Viking cooking pot' for her as a birthday gift). They had reenactments and reconstructions on site, and everyone seemed very enthusiastic and absorbed... More

We toured this museum and I would rate it a little above average I guess. It was well done, but I was disappointed in that there were not more exhibits. What was there was very interesting and they did a great job of showing the placards in English as well as Danish. They had a lot of artifacts from the... More

On our way back to Holland we decided to take a little detour and went to visit this museum. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to really see everything. We just have to come back an other time and see the rest.

This is a good visit on a rainy day. English translation was nice for parts of this however majority of it was in Danish. About a 30 minute visit for 70$ Kroner.

We visited this center during our summer holidays in Denmark. I have 2 kids (8 and 4) and they really enjoyed the different activities, we bought the additional ticket for activities and that it is worth doing... Especially the viking training. In comparison with other viking museum in Roskilde, Ribe is much more entertaining and involving children more actively.

A very large community of Vikings existed here and because it is still an active community they have been able to document its history. It is a small museum but very well done. We especially liked the recreation. Interesting to see the timeline of this area.

The museum had a lot of artifacts and seemed to tell a good story. But we would've gotten more out of it if there were more English explanations besides the heading of the display.
