When Sam Walton opened his 5&10 on the Bentonville town square in 1950, he had no idea he'd planted the seeds for what would become the global leader in retail, saving millions of people money so they could live better. Today, that humble little dime store is the location of The Walmart Museum. A family-friendly experience in 3 parts, the Museum features a world-class exhibit gallery, Walton's 5&10, and The Spark Cafe.

Came across the Walmart Museum as a way to burn a couple of hours while staying in Springdale. Wasn't sure what to expect. My wife, 12 yo son and I really enjoyed learning a little of the history of Sam Walton and the growth of Walmart. Our 11 year old enjoyed the ice cream parlour and salt water taffy at... More

The museum is small with minimal exhibits. Quite honestly we were very disappointed considering the stature of the founder of WalMart. The staff running the museum were very friendly and outgoing both entering and exiting the museum. The small ice cream parlor at the exit area was a nice surprise but not enough to recommend stopping by.

Everyone that visits the Bentonville, AR area should visit this museum. The contributions that Sam Walton made to this community are countless, and his legacy lives on via Walmart, and the Walmart Foundation. This museum gives the visitors a great perspective of his visions and accomplishments.

I loved the ice cream they had here. The soap is also amazing. It is a must see for sure. I will be back.

I expected this to be a little bigger, but it is still pretty cool. There is a retro five and dime, a soda fountain, and Sam Walton's office is on display as well. This is good for a quick tour.

This was an awesome to place to visit. Lots of things I didn't know about Sam Walton. They have a wonderful ice cream shop connected to the museum. The ice cream was like homemade shakes way back when.

Nice walk through time, see Walmart from the beginning and old product displays from the 1960's and forward. See the story behind the barcodes on products and make your name in a barcode. Hard working man with home town ideas that have spread across the country. Little gift shop and ice cream parlor. Big dollar ice cream cones in waffle... More

Of course who has not heard of wallmart? Everyone shops there... I do... It's because of the reasonable prices and they have everything you need. Everytime I visit the U.S. I would have to shop at wallmart either for things to bring back home or just for my daily needs... The musuem tells the story of how it started and... More

Very interesting to learn the history of American retail and how the founding father, Sam Walton, grew the company from a single store to a global country found around the world.
