Was disappointed in that there wasn't much there except for the Engine... It is a nice little park along the Colorado River though. It isn't but a few blocks from down town Yuma, which many good eating places on Main St. There is an airplane hanging from the ceiling in the New City Hall that has some very interesting history!... I enjoyed walking around here. The locomotive was interesting to look over. The area grounds are nice and has a great view of the Colorado river. Looks like a nice spot for a picnic when the weather is not too hot.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is right next door to this train. The walking / biking trail runs behind the hotel and the train. You can see inside the engine room. It's a big train. The park itself is beautiful. You can get close to the Colorado River and enjoy some shade. There are terrific displays with... More

We enjoyed a late afternoon walk and bike ride along the Colorado river on the Waterfront Park and Trail System starting from the Yuma Crossing area beside our hotel. This appears to be a new park, apparently still under development, but it's in fine shape to enjoy right now. We went west to the Wetlands Park and east to the... More

I took my camera here - it was a virtual photographer's playground. So many things to see - palm trees, ducks, the train, the bridges, and the park itself. I spent about 90 minutes there with my camera clicking. I missed the prison - it was closed - another day.

There really isn't much here but a nice trail along the Colorado River, there are a couple play areas for children and it looks clean and safe around the area. You can walk for a long time on the trails.

Very old train, very cool to see - if you are close by or staying at the Hilton. Unless you LOVE trains, I wouldn't drive an hour to see it. Whole visit might take 5-10 minutes.

Well .... it is an old steam engine .... there is a platform that you can step up on to see the engineer's seat ... it is located just east of a river walk park along the Colorado River that has walking paths .... not a lot to say about an old steam engine :-)
