We passed the historic statue on our trip to the lake. It was interesting to get a quick piece of history.

It's a good place to stop for gas and to get out of the car. The place is not very glamorous but it's fun and educational for kids. Gives you also an idea of city of Wickenburg, many restaurants around for lunch too.

What an interesting history lesson! I'll bet that being chained here really reduced the crime rate back then.

We went here as part of a city tour. The guide explained how people were chained here and how they were hung from the tree.

Very interesting. A two hundred year old tree that served as a jail from 1863 to 1890. There is also a button to push that will start a short recording recounting the local history.

Interesting historical site. It could use a bit of sprucing up but the information is good and humorous.

So much to occupy your day in Wickenburg ..... pick up a walking tour brochure from the Chamber of Commerce building (the old train depot) and explore the town. Don't forget a trip to the Desert Caballeros Museum (allow a couple of hours) as well...More
