Four mile section of the trail de Anza used to settle San Francisco. It goes from the Tumacacori Mission to the Tubac Presidio. The first 80% is well shaded along the river, out in beautiful nature, away from it all. If you do not have...More

We had a very nice walk here on our visit to Tubac. We brought our yellow lab and there were a few places for her to get a drink of water so even though it was hot she could stay hydrated. It was shady in...More

It is 5 miles one way from the Tubac Golf Resort to the Tumamoc Mission. The trail frequently borders running water and is heavily shaded for much of the trip.

Love the different topography, river flowing by, birds you can't see anywhere else. Refreshing for the soul and the body.

We started at the Tubac trailhead, and walked about a mile on the trail. It was disappointing at best. Minimal wildlife, dirt trail, some shade. At some point we'll start from the other end and hopefully it will be better.

We were dropped off at Tumacacari Mission and walked back to the Tubac Golf Resort. This was an easy 4.5 miles that was mostly flat and shaded. We saw lots of gorgeous cottonwoods, crossed over the small Santa Cruz River, so small, I actually thought...More

Hi, You can access the trail from near the Presidio Park and Museum, which is right in Tubac. It's about 3/4 of a mile or so from the Resort (which is wonderful) to the trail head that we started from). Google Anza Trail... More

I'm not really sure. I believe so just because the County is pretty animal friendly. You should check with the Santa Cruz County Animal Control Department to make sure.

Start by the Presidio in Tubac and look for markers. It's a bit of a long stretch from the Tubac end to the more interesting river part - the Tumacacori end is easier and more interesting quicker. Both trailhead locations... More
