My 11 y.o. daughter and I set off with Tracie & Gianfranco from Drake Bay Wilderness Resort one night in March, and got to see the paths that we used by day in a WHOLE new light. It was SUCH a great outing -- this...More

This was our second tour with 'Spiderwoman' Tracie, who fizzes with enthusiasm for her specialist subject, arachnids. She did not disappoint. Her tours are fun and she is wonderfully knowledgeable and engaging - a great teacher about the natural world generally but especially bugs. Don't...More

We took our three daughters (ages 10, 12, and 14) on the bug tour during our stay at La Paloma Lodge. It was spectacular! Traci was so informative, and our children are still talking about all they learned. This is a MUST!!!! It is fascinating!!!!

My wife and I went on this tour in February of 2017. This guided tour of Drake Bay's night creatures far surpassed expectations. We saw all kinds of creatures on our walk. However it was the expertise of Tracy and her husband Gianfranco that really...More

The tour was just mind blowing. Do it! We even saw a kinkajous (the marsupilami in real). I still have no clue how Tracey and her husband find all these animals. Usually we try to avoid larger guided tours but this one was worth it.

This was my third night-time tour in a jungle or rain forest, and it was decidedly the best. The tour leader, Tracie, is a biologist who has spent 15 years studying Drake Bay. She is an enthusiastic explorer of creatures of the night, and she...More

My 13-year-old daughter and I loved this tour. Gian and Tracie spotted a huge number of nocturnal animals for us to see, including different kinds of frogs and spiders, a sloth, a woolly opossum and a kinkajou! They are both extremely knowledgeable scientist/guides. This tour...More

Hello, unfortunately we do not offer the Night Tour from Puerto Jiménez. Because of logistics we can only offer the tour to guests lodging in Drake Bay near the town of Agujitas. Thanks again for your inquiry
Hello... and thank you for the great review on Tracie...I think my 16 year old and I are planning a trip to Drake Bay around that one tour! He LOVES reptiles and amphibians...has places at home to care for them. Can you give me any suggestions on tours/places to stay/places to go where we would see and INTERACT with the most of these critters? He is really not much into birds or whales, although I would like to snorkel while there. He already thinks of himself as his own personal tour guide, and indeed he comes home with snakes, turtles, even anda litle alligator! He finds creatures when no one else does, and I think he would love this place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Peggy

Hi Peggy, I would get in touch directly with Tracie and ask her advice as I am sure she can organise other tours than just the night tour as well as give you hotel recommendations and other specific tour guides. Tracie and... More
