Went from boat drop off at playa San Josecito back toward Drake bay. One beach after another, most empty or just a few other humans soaking up the sun and lovely blue water. We loved poking through the tidal pools, lots of critters, and a troop of capuchin.

People say this hike takes about 2,5 - 3 hours per direction. If you take in the beautiful nature along the way, I agree. For me it was getting dark on the way back so I didn't really take my time, but still didn't hurry. It took me only about two hours. But the reason I was running late was because on my way to the last beach I stopped so many times and enjoyed my surroundings! Monkeys, birds, trees, palm trees and one beach more beautiful than the other. Once I had passed the first bit where still some accommodations are, I hardly met any other person. This might be due to the decline in tourism during Covid. All together an awesome and also cheap way to enjoy the nature of coastal Costa Rica. I did the entire 20km from Drake Pura Vida hostel to San Jocito Beach and back. PROs: free CONs: in-and-out trail, not much to see, little animals (unlike Manuel Antonio), only one distance marker at the beginning, no stops/shops/toilets passed Cocalito Beach
