Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Walked from Tropical Sands hotel. Just to get to the ocean there is a thick layer of rocks. I suggest wearing sturdy shoes and not flip-flops. The sand is brown with woody debris. Not one shell! Not many people down by the water, maybe because it was hard to get to.

Such a beautiful and clean beach. Shared by Tico families, surfers, yogi’s and walkers. Peaceful and nice!

Dominical was unforgettable. It’s just a small town, the biggest appeal being the beach and the wonderful vibes everyone around you shared. This beach was a great place for surfers (I definitely used that to my advantage) and had tons of local people offering lessons, especially a boy who came to be one of my greatest friends, José! He is extremely talented, and you can find him at Cafe Mono Congo, he probably still gives surf lessons. For the best experience of your life, walk all the way down to the far left of the beach if you’re facing the water. I ate a fresh fallen coconut, used the oil on my hair and skin, and even climbed the rocks for some beautiful views- no tour necessary! 110% would go back, and I met some of the best friends I’ll ever have the wonderful vibes everyone around you shared. Big waves, surf people and a street lined with stuff to buy...seems almost out of place when you find it and drive through. There are a few eateries and hostels / hotels. If you're not into the beach scene or are ready for a drink and meal, I would absolutely recommend Fuego brewery which is hidden in the side streets - you won't believe it when you see it....good stuff....trust me :)

I visited Dominicalito beach in march this year.
It is easy to find using google maps (or other navigation app)on your mobile phone.
You can park your car inside the short access road from the highway or drive across a little fresh water stream coming down from the jungle going to the south side of Dominicalito and leave your car in a large park with coconut and other trees before hitting the beach. In front of you is a quaint little bay with waves that are easy to ride, a lot easier than the waves at Playa Dominical.

I wasn't sure what to expect of CR- it was our first visit and Dominicalito beach was the first beach experience I had there. We went to Tortilla Flats for sunset, which is a bar on the beach. A very typical bar, fun beachy atmosphere. There are lots of vendors set up along the road in front of the beach- lots of hippies with cool jewelry, locals with handmade items- I found some really great jewelry along this path of vendors. The beach itself was rocky. I heard that at low tide, you get an actual beach with sand, but I didn't see that. There are people camping in between the road with the vendors and the bars, and the beach itself. Its like camping/ parking- so its a little chaotic, but I found that charming. We thought Manuel Antonio was more like what we had in mind- and when we got to Santa Teresa, we were sort of sorry we spent a week down in Dominical area. That was really what we had been hoping to find all along. We were there to volunteer at the Alturas Animal Sanctuary- if you're in the area, you must go. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet a baby anteater. Cutest things ever!

Beautiful beach worth seeing. Very clean. The ocean is warm and the waves are fun to play in or boogie board on too. The kids were exhausted after a day at the beach. We will defiantly be back. There is a open air market very close by which is great to do some shopping at.

A great place to surf at high tide. Easy paddle out as compared to Dominical or Hermosa with mid size consistent waves. Friendly vendors with great drinks, smoothies and cold coconuts. Nice views of rock formations and from the water views of the mountains.

This town is like being dropped off at Woodstock! Not a place for children. The shopping is horrible and there are people smoking marijuana in public. This place is not a good place for families. The beach is not worth the time either.
